Boy you are the pickiest collector I've seen in a little while lol but that's great. I'm with you man I'm all in. This is a great line. I'm doubling up and will triple when soundwave Megatron get done. Eventually, I'll display these in both modes next to each other. I've purged so much as I've gotten older. And only buy selectively. This is the first line in a while. That's really really got me excited. Great video!

Among all the comparisons, the first one that I think everyone would want is a comparison with the original G1 toy

Hope they can integrate the tank treads into his arms and legs rather than just make a G1 Megatron with a big backpack. Like if we can never do a gun again then at least put the effort into seamlessly integrating the tank mode into the robot as they do with every single other figure.

I picked this up yesterday, and watched the video just now. You hit on exactly my issues for the transformation, so I'm glad that those ease up.

I want a green one. I had the green toy as a kid Edit: the original green version, apparently there's a newer green one too.

They really should do more comic variations like this. I'd be fine with retool. I cant enough of the modern g1s and comic versions.

Heya Sixo. You probably found this out by now, but other reviews I've seen show the arm can swing up at the shoulder hinge. It's possible there's a thooping point (Thanks Emgo!) where the arm is more locked into place that way. I don't have BB in hand yet as he's in my POL but maybe that'll help?

Don't waste your money on this plastic trash, I just got mine and quality is absolute garbage. It's flimsy and hollow, the ratchets don't hold up and the figure feels and looks cheap, the worst figure hobby search has release so far. Go with the Hasbro version 1000%

Not since the original G1 Optimus Prime toy have I ever been excited for a TF toy. This one from the 86 movie has been a long time coming!

Have to say... the hollowness in any thighs or those cannons? Not HasLab material, guys. Stickers... also not, but at least they're optional. No one should be looking at 'upgrade parts' or 'gap fillers' to make up for a shortcoming on a massively popular crowdfunded project from a billion-dollar toymaker. Still... they figured people wanted these guys and they were quite right, and they did a very good job. In 2025 you can make a case for Star Saber being a Commander class and Victory Leo being a Leader class to bulk out the Legacy line a bit, I think they'd sell... but if they took a few shortcuts with the HasLab I'd hate to see what they might cut for the mainline.

love this figure overall. just one question that's vexing me -- it looks for all the world that his hips are meant to slide forward in robot mode. if you flip up his crotch, it even looks like that's how he was assembled, by sliding them to the back. but mine are so stiff i cannot move them, and don't want to break the joints. anyone else have any luck with this? i think he would look even better if his legs were all the way forward, but i haven't found any video to mention this
