The edit cuts are really annoying. I'm just starting to get into one piece, and you switch to another completely different piece! This is not the way to present classical music!
There has been an explosion of serious music written for the trombone in the last 25 years or so, but the composers of old rarely wrote concertos for it. Now is a good time for players and fans of the instrument.
His oboe techniques are amazing, but his oboe sound is FUCKING HORRIBLE. He sounds like an oboe student who kinda just got out of the duck sounding phase
i play the F. Loree royal oboe and make my own reeds, playing all around the USA and travel with my concert band and yet I will never be as good as him.
His tone's a bit... odd. But he also happens to be one of those extremely rare musicians who has absolute control over the instrument, whose phrasing is clear, who shapes the lines with organic elegance. There's nothing impressive about just being able to play the notes.
Grande Holliger, ouve muitas vezes ele. O som ? Fica sem importança, uma grande expressão e inteligença musical...e uma pessoa muito simples,,,como os verdadeiros artistas, grande força mas sem ego superficial... Ouvir Holliger é uma experiença vital...
Well, Heinz really isn't known for his amazing tone, but it's still a nice sound, just different than the accepted tone. He has more of a french tone, a bit brighter. He is a technical wizard of sorts.
Excelente ejecucion, ademas lo realiza con los moviemientos alegres que exhala la musica, Mozart es lo mas grande que hubo para expresar los sentimientos y hacerlos perceptibles
楽器をとても大切にしている事に感動しました。
The editing transitions are as smooth as the trombone playing
Thank you, move on to the excerpts
Where did you get this footage from

Sacbut was the original form of the trombone, oh and remember the french...
His oboe techniques are amazing, but his oboe sound is FUCKING HORRIBLE. He sounds like an oboe student who kinda just got out of the duck sounding phase
hahah with the oboe you can play beautifully or absolutely horrid
i play the F. Loree royal oboe and make my own reeds, playing all around the USA and travel with my concert band and yet I will never be as good as him.
I love the way he jerks the oboe out of his mouth quickly every time he's finished his part.
I play a 901 and its great! *_* I play that concert to! and i am only 13
THIS IS RIDICULOUS. this man has embouchure for DAYS. my lips would be tired after like 2 minutes
" a bit brighter?" Holliger's strident tone hasn't improved in 40 years.

hey tone is awesomely shit... everybody knows that, but hes a genius anyway, so nobody cares.... ;)
3:58 may or may not be flat :P that is the only flaw that I was able to discern. This man is flawless and his tone is just incredible.
*w* What an inspiration... MUST INFORM MY FRESHMEN ABOUT THIS!!
Bravo !
great oboist :)
さすが、ホリガーさんですが、この一楽章が、4万ヒットなのに 2楽章が、ぐっと 落ちるのは、何ででしょうか????

i believe should be the quality of the video. I don't think a professional will sound like that.
