Not sure why he felt their early records weren't as good as the live shows. They sounded just like the live shows. Storm in Heaven, while one of my favorite albums ever, has intense production from John Leckie. It really captured the live sound but also put a beautiful gloss on the music that went well beyond sounding like a live band. Just take Blue as the primary example. Anyway, this was really cool to find this little interview. Love these guys.
