Forgotten Angels X Simmons School Students X Redrum MC
Today, we spent time with the students from Simmons Career Acceleration Academy & Simmons Exceptional Center at The Forgotten Angels property in Valrico. David and Cindy hosted an amazing Christmas event for the students giving them presents donated by multiple friends, family and organizations including Redrum Motorcycle Club. The students got to enjoy the beautiful sunny winter day playing cornhole, riding the zip-line, and having lunch provided by Chick-fil-A and topping it off with some s'mores!

My First Time Test Riding An Electric Harley Davidson Motorcycle - The Livewire! Cheeno Reviews

In this video, I hop on the Livewire and take it for a spin around town. I think it's safe to say I was thoroughly impressed and confused at the same time. The funny part of all this is that I never grew up on dirtbikes or manual transmissions at all. My first experience on a motorized bike was a Revel electric scooter in NYC. Hey man… There is no job with more job security than a Harley tech😂
@captainthruster9484 if i was in it for job security, I'd join the military lol. This is purely for fun and my love of motorcycles.
That was one of my favorite moments so far! Loved watching Austin get his!! Like Christmas morning!!

If a dude does'nt like tools, being a mechanic is a terrible choice. Buying and using nice tools was the best part of the job.
Don't get me wrong, nothing beats breaking in a fresh tool. But being in debt for them can be costly. I just finished paying off the tool truck after 3 years. Best feeling ever
@motocheeno For sure, I never let my account get too big . I've been out of the trade for quite a while, thinking of getting back at it in the spring.
@brando81 go for it bro. There are always ups and downs to any job. I just think this field is my favorite so far. And I've done a shit ton of different jobs.
Merry Christmas brother 👊🏻
Thank you bro! Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to both of you MC and CC… May GOD Bless you abundantly… love
Thank you! Merry Christmas
I've been a heavy equipment mechanic for 10 years. I still make mistakes. I learned from them and moved on. I sadly need both metric and standard tools, and they need to be both big and small😂. I agree, use metric tools on metric hardware and vice versa. Look at the head of the bolt, and it will tell you. If it doesn't, use a bolt chart or whatever tool fits the best. Yes, use the appropriate loctite for the application. Most loctite bottles will tell you what size bolts they recommend and read service procedures. I wouldn't recommend soldering for vehicles. Butt connectors resist vibration and flexing where soldering breaks easily. Caterpillar recommends butt connectors and duestch hot dogs for their wires instead of soldering. Yes, soldering seals the best against water, but you can use shrink wrap. If it's good enough for million dollar machines, it's good enough for cars and bikes
Ill add don't waste money on MMI Ive worked with 5 guys that graduated from there and they arent worth a damm
@@jacobcurtis6849 their curriculum has gone down the drain. It's a cash grab. I've learned more on the field than in mmi
As a Swede, it’s so strange to hear that mechanics of all trades by their own tools. In Sweden the company/employer buys everything needed to do the work.
I heard government jobs like US postal service and even lockheed martin have company provided tools.
@@motocheeno Hahaha, well, having left Sweden for Spain, I certainly feel it's basically a communist country, but LOL, he wasn't talking about fake (government) jobs. I worked as a tech and fabricator, building high-power distribution stations, and the company simply handed me a full tool trolley with everything I needed for the job, and I just checked out new tools if anything broke or I needed any other tool. Employers always provide the tools necessary, working clothes and protection gear.
I might add, on m6 bolts and smaller threaded into aluminum or magnesium, either don’t use a torque wrench or reduce the spec to about 70%. Those little guys will strip really easy with a torque wrench when your not even close the the spec called out in the book.
Yep. The 120 in lbs called for on primary case bolts with snap/strip them every time

@@MinnowMoto thanks for your support bro
I literally replace all metric with grade 8 or grade 5 sae. I use good quality tap and die kits.. I even tap and rethread my battery terminals. There is NO metric on any of my bikes. 70-98”, 93-127” & 98-113”. Nothing will ever sit in my garage with an EFI, ECU or any other nonsense. My religion is red only… it’s just how much. Repair wires? No… remove all ECU, EFI nonsense… sodar, shrink wrap, termination blocks… good quality wire. If you can’t get at minimum a 12 second ET and do a 500 mile day then you did it wrong.
Sounds like you've got a solid system down! 😎
As a small guy and former HD dealer tech, to get those touring models on the lift, if they run, just start it up and put it in gear. Let the bike pull itself up the ramp. Be careful, always. Or you could get some help or a spotter.
@rodneybugher9312 yeah most of the older techs here do that as well. It's sketchy with the taller apes
Awesome video thanks
@@dandrumma1 thanks for watching 👊
This was very informative, thank you for that.
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful.
I have a friend that's a master auto mechanic. I've helped him move his tools a couple times. Wow. Is that the same for you? Do they give you a space or do you need to bring in all your own chests and stuff. Having a Pan America the tech would come out often to talk about the bike. I never got to go back, he would come out.
Some dealerships like the last one I worked at, provided their own tool cart and storage chests. Most don't. So I bought my own and take it with me if I move to a different dealership. As far as having guests come into the shop, it can be a liability issue in the event the guest gets injured. So that's probably why. Also, techs don't really like when guests stand there staring at them while they work on their bikes. We try to stay efficient and distraction-free.
Doing an awesome job on these videos! Keep it up 👊🏻
@@Mayesrides Yo! thank you for supporting the channel bro
@ yessir! Hopefully I’ll see you again at the camp out in march!👊🏻
There is no reason that a top mechanic should make under thirty dollars an hour. The dealer charges over 135.00 an hour. I always see a rotation of mechanics in my dealership. Pay more money and then you will keep the best.
Motorcycles are a toy, not a necessity like cars Your lucky to make half that an hour unless your flat rate or doing it forever at a big name dealer
Work for yourself. My dealership is $150 ph.
I have a Ford dealer in town with a $185. hour labor rate techs get $18.50
You say that and it makes sense. But, do you really understand and know the numbers to run that Harley Davidson dealership?
One small mistake, you don't have to be noob mechanic to make all these mistakes, I've been making them all for YEARS at this point! 😂
😅 hence the name! I get it now. Trust me, working next to some of these seasoned techs... I still consider myself a noob
That’s awesome
@@jasonashby8563 thanks bro!
I never went to technical school for automotive or bikes, always wanted to be a bike tech. I got my foot in the door at a pretty popular dealership in the Chicago area but in sales… it was pretty awful, “another wannabe salesmen that should have been a tech” is what made me quit, go back into manufacturing, and go back to school for electromechanical technology
Snap on is great just don’t buy a box. Small stuff hear and there is going to be just as cheap as harbor freight and the quality is real.
Great video. I wrenched at a car dealership for nine years, and everything you said apples. The stuff you talk about is what nobody teaches at any automotive school. And the parts trucks - I think I could’ve driven a new car and bought a bigger home with the money I spent in tools. All good in the end. I’m now retired, been riding Road Kings (05 and 17), for the last 15 years, and I do all my own work, plus do other bikes on the side. Your tools are an investment you’ll always be able to use. I have a good mix of Snap On, Craftsman and Matco. For tools I might only use once or twice, it’s HarborFreight. Oh, and I always offered advice when asked. Good luck with your career.
@georgedelarosa5437 you, my friend, got the right attitude. I finally paid off my snap on bill!
You don't get paid for the hours when you're still working your mind when your head is on the pillow. I do my own work and keep everything tiptop, but it's not for everyone. Nobody gets away with never screwing something up, it's how we deal with it. Own it is the honourable way.
Get training find 1 st job deal & try move up sometimes to move seek other offers around
F hi $ tools n kits HD harbor freight but hard beat craftsman tools for warranty readability
Anyone think this video was going to be more about the inside scoop of what actually goes on behind closed doors at a Hd stealership? Like, do they REALLY do a 125-point inspection at the 1k service? 😂
Good ones, bad ones. Some do, some don’t. They are no different than an automobile dealership. Depends on the owner of the franchise and the culture toward the customers.
