What is the torque spec on the 9 high-pressure oil manifold bolts?
Does your motor have a screw in oil dipstick tube?
Hey I’m having a problem with removing mine since there’s a few pins that are holding it together and have no idea what to use or how to get them out
thank you for your knowledge and gift of teaching us how to do this service on our trucks
Did you watch Underground Weather on UA-cam? He used the same song. Just curious.
dawg you look stoned
love the timelapse and music selection, great job man!
using your vid today to do my lifted 06 6.0 auto F350 lariat Amarillo : ) thanks again for this vid
How much would a job like this run and where are you located?
It's been a minute since I'd converted mine over to 5 lug. I feel like I didn't have to remove the brake shoes and hardware to get the axles out. Also if you invert the brake drums and put at least two of the lug nuts back on loosely you can use it like a slide hammer to pop out the axles. I use axles from a 65 Comet as a direct replacement. I did have to use the M ll axle retainers on the Comet axles and I had to open op the center hole just a bit. I bought new drums for a 1990 Ford Ranger and used those. Great job on the video.
Can you tell me which studs you used?
I used an 8 inch out of a granada to convert to a 5 lug on my cobra 2
I have a 95 with the 6.5 I have changed the fuel filter and mist everything but PDM cause it has been changed before my truck spuders at idle or going down the road spuders as well but never dies on me could that still be the issue any one know thanks.
HEY, hoW LONG I TOOK YOU DO ALL THE JOB?
Man this was an amazing vid, instant subscriber, watched all the way through
question what is the size of hoses and fittings
1 3/16 converts to 30mm not 32mm
Surprised you didn't do the "Shelby Drop" while you were in there???
Wenchel found the perfect place to land!!! It's nice you have something to pick up client's vehicles with now. I had a 90 GMC 3500 dually for pulling the horse trailer that was white. Going to work one morning had a huge sheet of paint come off the hood and landed on the windshield. That was just the beginning.
Yes it did. It's going to be so much easier to pick up vehicles with wenchel. yeah for some reason gm white peels like crazy.
Cool Videos, where are you located?
Do you take on new projects? if so, what state are you located in?
Nice video pulling it up and out! Can you tell me why didn't you drop engine with K member under the can to work on the front end? Just wondering thanks again helpful video.
This helped me so much. Thank you. Couldn’t figure out those brackets were supposed to go on my 56’
You're welcome. Glade my video could help you out.
Nice Sean! We didn't know you had a UA-cam channel! We're subscribed now :)
At 18:43 in the video, how many bolts hold down the plate that has the oil filter tower on it to the oil cooler housing assembly? I bought a truck and it looks like it is missing a few bolts on that upper plate. Thanks!
Looks like the Prather area.
where did you find the gauges for the car im either looking to upgrade to newer ones or replace them with better looking originals, the ones that came with the car fell apart from sitting there and i haven't been able to find anything since, btw the car is a mustang 2 cobra so its special to me right now as my first project car and i'm just trying to do it right and good
My '69 Mach 1 has the FMX transmission as well. I used to think it was a C4 until I ordered the wrong tranny cooling lines - haha!! I should hv just looked at my door jamb tag. If tranny code is X then u have an FMX. Is that a common point for a leak on the FMX, the shifter seal, or whatever it's called? Ur doing some great work on that car. I don't know what it looked like when you started, but it's going to be one nice Mustang when it's done. Is this your personal car, or a customer's car? Thnx for the video.
Thanks you. yes its pretty common for them to leak especially if it has been sitting for a while. It's a customer's car. I will post a progress video on it soon.
What is the benefit of converting to five lug?
more wheel options
How did you route the passenger side return line?
👍👍
nice video was a little shocked you did not pull the oil filter stand pipe as they are easy to brake. I Have an 03 Excursion with 6.0 and had to do that same job right after I bought it. Wish I could have had a stick shift in it
Love the 'Cuda..... it will be nice to see it more like it's factory self. AND...... Can't wait to see that '69 Mustang on the road!
Would like to see the finished build with 5 lug wheels. Very interesting build.
Crown vice? you mean Vic
lol yes
Nice work! The steering u-joints are easy to find for replacing the rag joint, but what did you use on the column end? They've got a weird shape for attaching the factory shaft with a pinch bolt at the end of the column, and doesn't look like a DD at all.
Music unnecessary
Do you have to crank the engine by hand or bump the key on these trucks to get all the oil out of the cylinders like you would a 7.3? Doing injectors in my 6.0 for the first time next week
No you don't have to bump it over. When you pull the injectors out look and make sure that the crush wash is on the end of the injector. There will be a little bit of fuel that drain in the cylinder. look down the injector holes and there is no trash. I hope this helps
How can you tell if you need to replace your U-Joints?
Jack the truck up you can pull wheel off or leave it on it's up to you. Then can put a pry bar in the axle behind the u joint make sure you keep it tight and then rock the wheel back and forth if there is any play in the u joint they are bad. Also if you see any rust dust coming out of the caps that's also a sign of a bad u joint. hope this helps you out.
I used the same maddox ball joint press from harbor freight and though it works, I had a hell of a time on the lower balljoint. Using it like you did, I mushroomed the body of the ball joint with the threaded end of the press and had to press it back in before extracting it back out. The biggest spacer also was just a little too short to fully push the joint out before it started hitting the shoulder of the joint and threads below with the hollow cap. I had to fit a socket under the threaded part of the press and the joint to get it out. It worked though. I hear people say the OTC 8031 is the kit to use ideally. Thanks for showing me how you did yours! It was a great reference to what I had ended up doing!
Besides budget reasons, I don't know why this swap is so popular. They always look like shit. They're so wide, you can only use wheels with all the back spacing. They're not good for bags, you can't use coilovers with those huge spring pockets. #killthecvswap
Best upgrade for a 6.0. Sell it and get a 6.7 powerstroke.
I have near the exact same model just with a teal interior but I was just wondering I can’t figure out for the life of me why my interior light like the flash light won’t turn on lol
you made this look easy..
How can I adjust my idle just a hair on my 92 to take some of the gear lash sound down since I just installed a new solid mass FW and built trans.
I do the same on my dually
Thank you very much for the video. I am about to do the injectors on the passenger side. (drivers side was replaced by a shop a few years ago and was $5k) so I am saving money and doing it myself this time. Glad I watched this video otherwise I would have just jumped right in, in the morning and possibly broke something. Now I know what I need to get from the auto parts store and be more prepared. I didn't have a long shaft t40 torx bit or even a torque wrench that works anymore. Also the air tool wrench thing is a neat trick, I will have to hunt for one of those. Much appreciated!
yeah no problem. I'm glad i could help you out and save you some money.
@mcintiregarage7359 I didn't have an air wrench and couldn't even find one at an auto store or even ace hardware, so I made one close to spec but the steel was too thick and I broke the high-pressure oil rail rubber piece that you used the air wrench to release it. I can't find a new rubber piece anywhere online. It looks like I have to order a right side rail tube thing with the rubber attatched for about $120+ tax and wait for it to arrive. Such a bummer, wish someone actually made those rubber pieces so that I wouldn't have to spend so much money and time waiting for the part to fix my early 03' 6.0. Any suggestions before I order the new part?
@@ericblanchard5873 damn it man sorry to hear that the plastic retainer broke. I don't have any on that wish i did. sorry man. I'd just go ahead and order the new one. super bummed that happened to you.
@mcintiregarage7359 it's about right, just my luck lol. If anything bad can happen to me, it will happen to me. I learn to just roll with it now as if it's a part of life, that possibly some higher being is holding me down and back, always. Doesn't stop me from trying again and again.
Question? Why the new ball joints move up and down freely?
The upper joint allows for up and movement.
I bought a new stering colm at the full service junk yard for 100 bucks so much easier to just replace it all but maybe ysll don't have brains like that
😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤❤
Wow it just keeps getting more obscene what are you boys doing taking off the steering wheel t I do an ignition wowsers
Why not just push the little tang in to get it out why drill it apart obviously you don't know what your doing cheif. TRUTH 💯 FACTS
thanks buddy 👍
