Cooking On Fire in the Wilderness of Nong Khiaw, Laos
This is not a survival video! But, What do you do when you’ve got no plan and no time? You improvise! Join us as we grab a few ingredients from a tiny local shop and head deep into the wilderness of Northern Laos.
With towering limestone cliffs and a peaceful river as our backdrop, we managed to cook up something incredible over an open fire-just before sunset! This was one of those unplanned moments that turned into an unforgettable adventure.
But it wasn’t just about the stunning scenery. This experience became a journey into sound, too. We had the privilege of listening to our friend Torn Palk’s soon-to-be-released album as we cooked, adding a unique soundtrack to this epic day. Discover the beauty of Laos through nature, flavors, and incredible new music.

    😊🙏 Welcome to Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia! Should visit KL during the Christmas festive season from November to December to experience the various Christmas festive decorations in these shopping malls around KL like in MidValley Shopping Mall , Pavillon Bukit Bintang , Suria KLCC & the new TRX Shoppping Mall ... Langkawi in the Northern State would be great for those who love the beaches & high cable car rides! Might try the local Nasi Lemak , Penang Assam Laksa with the brownish egg noodles instead of the white rice noodles , peanut pancakes , marinated chicken / beef / mutton skewer meat BBQ Satay , palm sugar iced cendol dessert , wanton noodles , hainanese white chicken rice , Char Kwai Teow ( Wok cooked rice noodles with shrimps , cockles & spices ) natural fruits like mangosteins , rambutan , dragon fruits , chempedak ( More smaller but creamier & more fragrant type of Jackfruits ) , durians etc., 🙏 Stay safe , stay healthy , stay vigilant & stay humble guys! Hello, I came across your account while looking for information about the possibility of transporting a motorcycle to the other side of the Kong Lor cave. You don't even know what a smile came to my face after seeing your video of this adventure! And here comes my question and request: do you have any information about the person who transported you to the other side? Or is it so common for local people that everyone will help there? Is there a possibility that this will be impossible if the water level is too high? How do you rate this crossing? Would you do it again? I will be grateful for any information 🙂 Greetings from Poland!

      @usonearth 3 місяці тому

      Thank you, You're right, the slash-and-burn practice does have a significant impact on air quality, and it's a tough issue. In some places, it's a traditional farming method that's been used for generations, but it’s true that the environmental effects, especially on the air, are concerning. Hopefully, there can be a shift towards more sustainable practices that balance both the needs of farmers and environmental protection. I will make full video of burning season in northern area.

    Bumpy adventure😅 Is it easy to communicate with local people?

    • @usonearth
      @usonearth 3 місяці тому

      Well, yes and no-it really depends on where you are and how you approach people. Sometimes, people may be reserved or not open right away, especially if they’re not used to seeing foreigners, but generally, if you’re kind and respectful, they’re kind back Even if they don’t speak English, we’ve been able to get by with body language-it’s usually just basic things like food, drink, sleep, how much, petrol, or asking for directions. And you always learn some words in their language like hello, goodbey, how much, numbers, thank you etc etc, . The people here are often smiling and friendly, and even though they might look like they don’t have much, I think they’re really rich in their way of life :)

The experience is incredible, and the short cut was way more fun and authentic villages beautiful landscapes, I would like to stay even there over night or two somewhere.
