Another reason the garage door won’t close unless you hold the button down when you just bought new sensors could be you bought incompatible sensors to your garage opener. Not all sensors work with all garage door openers.

How do you know if they are aligned?

My sensor was off by about a 1/4 inch. A slight adjustment and garage went right back to functioning after about 2 weeks

My problem is that my keyless entry keypad will not close the door after pushing the enter button only. The door works fine opening and closing if I use my 4- digit code or my remote control. When I walk out, I used to stop and push the enter button only, and the door would close. Do you have any ideas why the door is doing this?

One of the lights on the sensor was not on. I wiped the sensor and the light immediately went on. Fixed it in 10 seconds

Just FYI, in the Honeywell Model F50F - similar to the one in the video but a bit newer - the two cartridges are electrically independent of one another. The round white objects on the sides are insulators -- not connectors. Also, when you hear intermittent snapping (and the light flickering) that's a high voltage arc occurring between the plates of the cartridges and/or the wire elements and the plates or frame. Most likely cause is a hair. (In our house, pet hair is the usual cause.) And, as emphasized in the video: keeping these things clean is a must.

I have a whole house fan motor that runs, but no longer fast enough to create enough speed to lift the baffles on the fan housing. If the fan starts, then it probably isn't the capacitor? Any suggestions or ideas? With the supply chain issues, can't even get a new one for my 36" fan.

I wish that one of these suggestions were my problem... door still won't close..cant get anyone to come out to remedy the problem.

There’s no way my wife is letting me stick these things in the dishwasher. But I can hose them down.

Make sure to check the wires near the moter. For some reason after years of operations one wire came lose and the door would only close if the button was held down. CHECK the wires at the motor box if the sensors are clean and working. Only one of the four wires was loose on mine fixed the problem right up with a solid connection.

First time owner of forced air home. After two years, had to have a furnace company come out as my furnace was not working. They informed me that I had to change my filters. Had no idea that that was a thing. I grew up with base board heating. I change them religiously now.
