League is undoubtably the tougher sport. I don't see any Union players swapping over to League and being able to play rep football, yet many sub par League players are able to switch codes and play rep. End of discussion.
Who exactly is the last Union player to swap codes to League and play top grade (NRL)? Don't bother mentioning former League players such as Thorn, Rogers, Sailor or Tuqiri. On the flipside we have players who are physically incapable of playing NRL at the top grade, such as Ryan Cross who swap codes and rep the Wallabies, easily. Karmichael Hunt much? Guy leaves NRL for a stint in RU, spends the next years on a diet of noodles and water playing AFL, the thought of him playing NRL after that was laughable. NO team would even consider offering him a contract. Nek minnit, Wallaby. Do I need to go on? lol
Ryan Cross. Not good enough / physically capable of playing NRL anymore, switches to Union, Wallaby. Karmichael Hunt. Body deteriorated from playing kick netball for years, NO NRL teams interested in signing him, switches to Union, Wallaby. (Don't know why I have to repeat this, these two glaring examples are enough to prove my initial point) Ben MacDougall. Probably the worst full time centre in the NRL in 2004. Not wanted by any other NRL team when contract expires. Switches to Union, reps Scotland. Timana Tahu. Same as Cross. Not good enough or physically capable of playing NRL anymore. Switches to Union, Wallaby. Comes back to NRL on minimum wage, is a nothing player for shitty teams. Cooper Vuna. Bench / reserve grader in the NRL. Switches to Union, Wallaby. Tasesa Lavea. Unwanted by the now defunct (read:bad) Northern Eagles, switches to Union, reps Samoa. Craig Wing. Too old for NRL, playing predominantly off the bench for the cellar dwellars South Sydney. Switches to Union, reps Japan, at an age when most are retiring (33) Again, do I need to go on?
