Litz wire is used to reduce proximity effects? Huh, shouldnt be to reduce skin effect losses due to the strand's diameter?
Thank you for your question! Litz wire indeed helps reduce both skin effect and proximity effect losses. While the individual strands do mitigate skin effect due to their smaller diameter, the woven or bundled structure of Litz wire is also designed to minimize proximity effect losses. Both effects are managed together, making Litz wire effective for high-frequency applications. Let me know if this helps clarify!

This video is no longer state of the art because iron powder cores with losses comparable to ferrite appeared on the market a few months ago.
