Dang, either you're in a heavy downdraft or you're using nicads that plane is not flying like a glider.

"A little tail heavy," he says. Any more tail heavy, and you'd have to fly it backwards as a canard. Properly balanced, and in suitable conditions, this plane should be as smooth as glass. Nice work!
