In the classic rules that is true. In the new revised combat you actually process all 3 types. I was using the newer rules that had not been published at the time. I really like the revised ones because it greatly speeds up combat but it does mean you can take more damage if you get a bad match of warfare skills you have versus the minions.

@@BoardGameRoamer reread the last part of page 20. I made the same mistake. The minions use the same combat system as before, the champions and guardians use either classic or revised combat. The very last paragraph of pg 20 has the specific rule. I find these rules far too chatty and poorly formatted, but at least the info is there. The nice thing about a game like this is that the rules are meant as a framework, like an RPG, so if you “mess up” you’re just doing it a bit differently. Maybe harder, maybe easier, but in the end you have an experience that was a lot of fun. I’m taking this approach with games like Dungeon Universalis and Euthia, just have fun and if you play a rule wrong, fix it next time. Or don’t.

@@dougcooley1946 for sure, ill definitely re read that section but I do agree with playing games to be fun. I want to be pretty close to accurate but its not possible to always be that way and I play for fun so I am with you, if I can fix it I will or if I am not having fun ill change it!

I did forget about Duke. I did shuffle them and add them to the back. I just did not keep that in the video. saves a little time over the course of the playthrough.

Valid point. I am not a sleever so this was not something i factored in. I agree that the card stock could have been better but it works for what it is. The giganticness of the setup nd playtime means it does not come out often so i think the cards will last a good while before i would ever have an issue IF i dont abuse them

I backed the original and got the reprint so I could give away my first edition. It was the first solo game the gentleman I gave it to said he liked enough to play more than once!

No mistakes, just happy little accidents. Especially with the treasure cards I think we did pretty good since we did not have as many as we could have. This is a great game that needs an expansion

Who knows at this point lol. That was 3 years ago. Let us just say that my editing and file management weren’t super great then. Most likely I lost the footage and couldn’t recover it.

Thank you for watching! I agree with you. Having tried the 2nd edition of both AH and EH I found third was way better for me. I can understand why people who had 2nd for SO long wanted to stick with it though. For me it was also a way to start at the new edition and keep up with the expansions. Finding and acquiring all the old 2nd edition stuff is very difficult and could be very costly in comparison.

These were a kickstarter a while back but there are a couple shops on etsy that sell these as well. There are even some at different angles to accomodate those type of hex based games. The KS was from a seller called PrintablesByKaren. Thanks for watching!

@@BoardGameRoamer I am just confused because at the beginning it looks like you take 4 actions but you say you picked up a cattle token as a free action. I could be wrong but the free action is to deliver. It takes an action to pick up a cattle token.

Lol dang. I did that early on and forgot. I had the tokens set aside and they were both NOT TRAPS! I’ll probably just say the next two i trip will just be no traps. On the bright side I’m being reminded of a lot so quest 2 and 3 should be much more smooth and rules accurate lol

Yes. It was an oversight. I posted in an earlier video that the first 7 or so parts will feature that. I had already filed that far ahead before it was caught. We will be going through all 3 quest tables so it is fixed from about part 7 or 8 forward.

If I may, I would like to share something I've said sometimes in the past for you and anyone else who's interested in the game and a little backstory on me. I set out to break the mold of the fantasy adventure/RPG/dungeon crawl genre and give fellow gamers and people something creative, innovative, thematic, immersive, challenging, and fun. I'm a diehard soloist board gamer, so I built the game from the ground up for soloist gamer but can be played co-op just as easily. Ever since I was young, until now, I've been incredibly passionate about fantasy adventure/RPG/dungeon crawl types of games. I grew up playing board games like Dungeonquest, Dark Tower, Warhammer Quest, and of course, Heroquest. But I also LOVE those PC RPGs from that golden era, as I call it. Games like the Ultima series, Eye of the Beholder, Might & Magic, Icewind Dale, Wizardry, and my personal favorite Baldur's Gate. Plus, many more. I'm a Diablo junkie! I poured a ton of creativity, imagination, thematic storytelling, passion, and ingenuity into designing the Avalon Adventure board game and Dungeon Crusade for people to give them a genuinely new experience to have and enjoy. With the patrol route system, I have always wanted to develop/create a "living dungeon" experience with monsters and creatures moving throughout the dungeon with unpredictable movement patterns. The patrol route system works incredibly effectively for this...LOL, almost too good! ;) I'm sorry to be long-winded; I wanted to let you know more about me in the game. I'm glad you mentioned our Dungeon Crusaders group. I genuinely consider those people like extended family. All of them are awesome and always ready to help out new Crusaders. Yes. I am using a different audio device (aka earlier iphone, 10r specifically) for audio. Its not as good as the 12 max pro. I may switch back to it. That wont happen until round 7 or so if I do as thats how far i have already filmed. One day I hope to have something like a blue yeti that is MUCH better and designed for this purpose. Yes! I dont play it AS often as I would like but if I was stuck on an island and had to pick 3 games, this would still be one ( Though hoping there is not a weight limit on these or it would probably have to be left off the raft lol)

no. unfortunately most of my gear mounts to the table so whenever we hit it, it does the shake.
