CCM R30 604 Supermoto 676cc Rotax engine
Переглядів 3 тис.6 років тому
Seemed a nice day for a ride out but the traffic turned out to be a bit too heavy for my liking. The new big bore 676cc Rotax 604 engine was running strongly, next step is a visit to Dynotech at Basingstoke to finalise the main jet setting and get the power plot.

32 deg. C in the cell and the air-cooled Rotax 636 was getting a little too hot, best bhp figures for the day was 63.77 rwhp (71.7 bhp flywheel) @ 7.3K rpm Power runs done in 4th gear, true speed - 95 mph @ 8K revs Many thanks to Keith (Dynotech Basingstoke) and Gary Wigston (Sportax)

I have one of these from 2001 and it’s a beast
Any ideas why it sputters at 5:28?
I put one of them Rotax engines into an MT350 army bike. Easy swap and amazing upgrade!
Looks quick👍🏽 how reliable has this been for you?
The bike in this video was not yet set up on a rolling road, after proper tuning the performance was night and day better and is currently making nearly 70 rwhp, reliability has been generally excellent with one noteworthy failure, after a change to a hotter camshaft I took it up to over 10K several times during a road test and overloaded the crankcases in the usual place and the case cracked between the LH crank main bearing and the balancer shaft bearing, this required a quick rebuild with fresh cases which I had already prepared for this eventuality and included an upgrade to eliminate that weakness in the cases and the bike was back on the road within 48 hours and going better than ever
Very nice. I like the power delivery - just rolling the throttle.
That’s very nice! I used to love the Armstrong CCM mx bike in the 1980’s
Nice bike Roland.
Thanks, I'm only pottering around on quite low gearing but this bike has 60 rwhp with plenty of low end torque, Weight is 124Kg and on the skinny Avon TrailMaster dual purpose tyres it handles well and is fast
@@rotax636nut5 Great build, sounds lively. Cheers.
636 or 676cc?
The engine in this bike was a freshly built 103mm bore x 81mm stroke unit giving 676cc and fitted with a Mikuni VM44 carb, the engine at that time made for a nice ridable well mannered torquey unit as you can see, the gearing is 100mph @ 6K rpm in high gear and the bike will cruise at 6K all day long with rider normally seated and with strong acceleration still available
Rotax 636nut did they measure power on the dyno stand in the latest configuration (676cc)?

Where you getting engine parts? I thinking about buying one with rotax but a afraid about reliability. Do I have to be worry wit good maintenance? I want to use it daily
@@ghawrot1 Parts from Gary at Sportax Racing, regarding reliability all my own tuned Rotax engines have been very reliable once I've come to understand a few things about them, such as using the correct oil along with small operational things like always starting the engine on a closed throttle and using the decompressor to stop the engine running etc.
amazing power figures!!
Has a flat smooth idle too and perfect road manners.
Nice bike
