Thanks for sharing this 9:27 valuable information. CD since 1991. Finally got my first absess. Just completed surgery with seton placement. My surgery was unexpected so little time to prepare. Word of advice. Make sure the person you have take you is capable of expaining what the doctor tells them afterwards. You willn't remember anything. Th we paperwork was mimimum and didn't cover the what, how & when. My surgery was exploratory. My surgeon was a Rectual Surgeon but I was in no shape to under what those things were hanging from my check & anus. Things like after defecation wasn't explained. I picked up a Peri bottle from CVS. That help alot with cleaning fecal matter. I was taking a bath and about to order o e of those biget toilets from Lowe's. That peri bottle was a game changer. I am day two after surgery and haven't taken any of the oxycdone. That stuff is scary. I drove for the first time today, it wasn't easy. Videos like yours are VERY HELPFUL for people that are new to this medical journey. Thanks again for helping me and many others I am.sure.

Have you had any issues with the strap?

I use cotton rounds instead of the surgical gauze and I purchased a postpartum peri bottle to clean the wound when Im not home and it saved me. Getting a donut pillow for my next surgery so I can sit down!! I hope your doing well :-)

Sitz bath make the anal area too dry .so what you recommend for this?

i have been diagnosed with fistula on Januarythis year and having homeopathy medicine since then, its quite affective but surgery is the only way to get through, i hope an d pray for your recovery and support, btw i have found one doctor with very effective treatment if possible check his videos (Dr. Ashish Bhenot Delhi) .

I get my flushable wipes at Walmart. It's one of the few things I will go there for. They've got Aloe infused ones now. I use those and mostly stay at home but they do have the individual packaged ones too. I see in the comments you've healed but in case you need them in the future. I really like them and the Aloe helps heal, at least that's what I tell myself.

Something that help a ton for me is getting a bidet, I use aloe vera, and calemoseptine cream. I am 5 months in with Ceton. A Very challenging thing to deal with. I amso changed my eatting habits. Taking slippery elm supplements.

I have just done the surgery 3 weeks ago,, the wound started to healed. However ,I will back to work next week I need tips how to deal with my condition specially, my work is 30 minutes away drive from home , I have to sit long time, and there twice week I have to travel by car one hour away just one way 😩.

I did same with Gauze, in between butt cheeks but along with the cotton gauze maternity underwear. It’s been almost 2 months and no other underwear. Sooo comfortable ☺️

Thank you for your thorough and compassionate video-I'm so happy I found you and really everyone who has commented-bc it really feels like you're alone-I'm a psych major and I learned that we have more in common than we think in terms of experiences-I had surgery on Jan 13 23 and it's been a journey-I've never had any surgery before and I naively thought it was pretty much one and done- I'm currently 8 days~ and did have to go to the ER twice last one my stitches popped and I now have a gapping wound too-I woke up feeling a bit more emotional today and finding you and other members has brought my spirits up again 😊 I am have relied on my strong social support from my adoring boyfriend, my family and friends-i determined to fully heal ☺️and aim to keep positive
