Porsche 944 / I (1984). Safe acceleration 0-100km/h, no wheelspin to save the gearbox and clutch. Thanks to my buddy in the rear, who held my smart phone.
Porsche 944 with Faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator and Leak-Down Test Failure, rough idle

My early Porsche 944 showed this symptoms of fuel pressure regulator failure. Engine runs rough or sputters at idle. Engine starts but stalled nearly, shortly after startup. Bad hot start. Fuel pressure at idle above 2 bar /- 0.2 bar (29 psig /- 3 psig). Fuel pressure goes down, when throttle opens/vacuum increases. 20 minute leakdown test failed at once due to the leaky fuel pressure regulator...
ur check valve is gone,,, u need to change the pump or install a fuel check valve in line,,,,,, it was my case also ,, soo i just install the check valve ,,, all ok now
this was very good 7sec to 100 - amazing what little power with little weight can do.....
never ever, 968 way too slow......(has 90HP more....)
This is 1180 kg 944 vs. 1470 kg 968 Tiptronic Convertible. Tiptronic + Weight kill the get off the line speed. Check my 968 top speed video.

its not. at idle it should go for 2 bar, and with the increasing vacuum from the air intake which is the regulator connected, it should increase to about 2,5bar. in this video, it does the opposite.
Did you have to replace some parts? Did you fix it?
My '84 911 Carrera was doing something a very similar in traffic today (lumpy idle) in addition to getting low mpg. It has a fuel pressure regulator on the left bank of cylinders and a similar pressure damper without return to the tank on the right side fuel rail. Vacuum hoses ok. THANKS!
