had to go back and look at your awesome video.i fish mostly oyster leases here south Louisiana,have a bunch of caught fish waypoints clumped together in several spots. am going to go back over these with SS mapping and see if/what is attracting fish to these areas, maybe then like you say can delete some waypoint clutter on map. thanks John

What did your you use to playback Sonar to the computer?

After you create this structure map at the console, is it visible at the bow, or do you have to copy it to another card and install that in the bow unit?

I have recently developed an interest in Structure Mapping on my Lowrance HDS7 Gen3 unit with a TotalScan Transducer. I have done quite a bit of research on how this is done and how to use it. Here is a link to a google Drive Folder with (5 reference documents) included to help you create Structure Mapping files and properly install them on your Lowrance HDS7 Gen3 unit so that you can view them on your chart as an overlay. As long as you have the separate SD card installed in one of your SD card slots with the files created during the structure mapping process the saved structure mapped areas will automatically be viewable on your chart. You can have multiple structured mapped areas on the SD card and they will all show up on your chart. If you have the appropriate 12 volt power supply with appropriate Lowrance Power Cable attached to your Lowrance Head unit and can easily view your chart data in the comfort of your home. If you added any waypoints you can select one and tell the head unit to (show) and it will take you to that location on the card displaying your over layed data. With the information included in the 5 items included you should be able to able to enjoy Sonar Logging/Structure Mapping. Once you come back and select high definition and activate the structure map, is it clearer then it was when you scanned it live? If that makes sense. Your image afterward seems to be stitched together much better, and clearer then when you were actually scanning

3:10 pretty sure you can adjust the offset by editing the settings and defining the sizes of your boat in your unit. I could be wrong though

0:34 What happens when you tap the Upload to C-Map Genesis option? Does it upload directly while you are logging live on the water? Or do you need it to upload after from a memorycard? Great tutorial by the way. ;)

great video. i am just learning how to use lowrance carbon. after you recorded your .sl3 file i didn't understand how you showed it as overlay again on the chart. could you briefly explain steps how to get there. thanks john
