The moment that BBC News broke the news that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had died.
BBC1 had been showing news all afternoon with the mounting concern over the health of The Queen. As the announcement was formally made by Buckingham Palace, the BBC interrupted transmission on its remaining channels with this at around 18:30 GMT on 8th September 2022.

We join BBC2 at the end of New Year's Day 1985 as they end their feature film "The Deer Hunter", and close down for the night. This is a recording of "Points of View", where viewers gave their feedback (in an oh so British way) to the then new BBC logo and the 1997 BBC1 Balloon idents. Sadly this tape was badly damaged in storage - it got water damaged. Candletorchs of new year's day period
Seeing a lot of people hate the 2021 Rebrand and now looking at the backlash the 97 rebrand got, it’s just a “here we go again” moment. I bet the same reaction will happen when the next rebrand comes.
Also, instead of 2017 Oneness idents, it will be balloon idents
They spent an extra of 2 million for the current one.
It's very interesting to look at it now, especially considering just how utterly bollocks the new logo is (it's just the old one with a font change, not even a major font change). I mean they changed the logo about 3 years before I was born so I'm use to the 1997 one, I prefer the 1988 one that little bit more but the 1997 one is far from bad. However I must say I do love the hot air balloon idents. It's great to see you were able to recover footage from the tape, was it mouldy or was it just damp? If it was damp I would have recommended tape baking (which involves heating up the tape to a certain point in order to dry out the tape to prevent the oxide from shedding for a while. I don't think anything would improve the picture quality because I think the binder was permanently damaged by the moisture.

As he already said, BBC2 never plays the National anthem at the end of their broadcasts.
