Love this ad. But the emphasis on shenanigans almost makes it seem like an ad for THUG 2. Now that I think about it, THUG 2's shenanigan-fueled story would be a lot more enticing if the characters were unknown skate punks instead of famous pros.

Great commercial. As much as I like the current visuals of DoA5, I prefer the previous anime style look of the older games.

Still have no clue as to why this song is not on the actual soundtrack. This commercial is pretty much the reason I got my parents to buy it for me when it came out, and a big part of that reason was how sick the song is/was.

Oddly enough, the first four installments (DOA 1,2,3,4) seem far less sexual and more purposeful than how everyone remembers it, if the Aerosmith soundtrack is any indication. Ad is kind of being reductive and moralistic towards anything that shows a bit of female skin and unflattering angles. Talk about core values lol The ad is amusing and all that, but it's that kind of tunnel vision that has hampered the franchise's reputation and growth these days. Or ever since. Thanks, unnecessary volleyball spinoff P.S. I absolutely love DOA 5: Last Round. I can see how it 'toned down' the sexuality or at least de-emphasized it and added a bit more nuance. Great characterization as well, though you can see the gravure and fan service stuff bearing down upon it. Again, because of its reputation and the kind of expectations it had generated. But that isn't what it's all about. I also couldn't give a shit about the juggle physics. I'm straight, BTW

I just recently got into DOA when I found out they had Virtua Fighter characters in it. VF, SF and MK are my favorite fighting games but I'm liking DOA now. I just bought an og xbox to play DOA 3 and beach volleyball! I actually saw this commercial in the volleyball game and decided to look it up on here because this is one of the best video game commercials I've ever seen lol

While playing DoA 6 and 5 core fighters with kasumi being one of the only characters I have, I just remembered about this commercial. Now not only would this ad not work, the game itself has tried a pseudo tone down.

Never remember seeing this commercial (maybe it wasn't broadcast in Europe) but this is exactly the kind of commercial that would make me interesting in a game!

I play it for the reversals, and the rock/paper/scissors strategy and dynamics that they bring to the game.
