RIP David Lynch

The death of David Lynch the Nosferatu weather inspired me to make... this. Some things don't really need explanations. But I'm a hopeless over-explainer, so I will always try to anyway. Do you need winter cycling clothes?
Переглядів 2 тис.21 день тому
Do you need winter cycling clothes? Of course not. By all means, buy it if YOU want to or need to. But a lot of people already have decent stuff from previous hobbies or just in general. Use what you have, there is a good chance that you already own clothing that is suited for winter riding in your climate. What do I have? Some ski stuff, some running stuff, some random stuff. It's all good. Ri...

Addvurt Bikes discord server: discord.gg/8rbs5CSEbW This is a selection of clips from 2024 that didn't become UA-cam videos for one reason or another. I participated in some mountain bike races, I went to Vienna and watched a punk concert. I went on fun rides with my friends. A good year in bikes for me. You only need one gear to be happy
I really find fixed gear bikes cool and absolutely gorgeous, but the thing is, I love going fast, so I think I'll just continue admiring fixed gear bikes and continue using my old road bike.
Ride whatever feels the best for you! Some people go absurdly fast on fixed gear too, especially on a velodrome.
I don't suggest anyone spend any time on backwards riding. Thanks for the introduction to a first fixed gear Addvurt Bikes.
I enjoy doing it sometimes, but I'm still not good at it, 3 years later :D
just got caught up on ~2 weeks worth of your videos. forgot what i was missing! also i think seeing you play around with going backwards and such at 1:44 has finally sold me on getting a fixie. that looks so damn FUN
Oh wow! I hope you have fun with your future fixie. Going backwards is really hard but with enough practice it’s possible :)
What kind of aluminum and technology is this frame made of?
I forgot, but I mention the alu number in one of the videos. As in technology, I don’t really know what you mean :)
What a fun video.
Thanks :)
the music choice was excellent for this video
Thanks!
Great video! Could you please share the song name?
Thanks! Owe Thörnqvist - På festplatsen (live)
@@addvurtbikes Thank you :)
Song is on my spotify list. Loved the video
Mad skids 😂. I enjoy the moment when the bike was fondling a tree. Perfect 👌
fun Fun FUN❗

Yup- love the tunes😊
It’s a banger :)
Love the tunes.
Me too :)
I always know I'll enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for keeping your madcap channel going. Cheers👍🏼
Thank YOU!
There is a Finnish game called MySummerCar and I feel like this channel is spiritually the MyWinterBike Swedish counterpart!
Haha yes I love it, my winter bike :) I sorta know about that game but I never tried it.
Watching you ride in inclement weather inspieres me want to get out and ride, so that is what I will do this afternoon!
That’s awesome! Thanks for commenting :)
Great song choice.
Thanks, I like how it turned out :)
what did the poor rear wheel did to deserve this?
I skid because it’s fun :) The rear tire has been holding up since 2022!
This is a weird but great channel. Keep it rolling!
Thank you my friend!
Silver shadows in the Tundra with fog on the headlands. Spook.
What wheels are you running?
On my Ribble tracklocross I use Miche X-Press :)
YES!
YES YES!
The far-too-large, lifted truck at 2:00 is certainly a pretty ugly thing!
Ugliest thing in my general area if I dare say so myself. That’s why I showed it when I said “ugly” :)
The original Nosfertu (1922) is an amazing film, the 1979 remake (Nosferatu The Vampyre) is also worth watching if only for Klaus Kinski's performance. The new one looks good too but it will have to go some to better your short tribute to Mr Lynch. Cheers👍🏼
Hehe, thank you, I had fun making it :) Have a great day!
Love the videos and this one did a great job catching this day in your life! Here's golden sunshine and blue skies in our lives
Cheers my friend! Yes, the sun will return, we just have to stick around for a while :)
here in Knoxville, Tennessee we have been having the exact same melting snow - foggy light rain weather. I actually enjoy it! it feels like everything is paused, or like an out-of-bounds area in a video game
Haha yeah that’s a good way to put it. Everything is just weird and you’re not supposed to do anything right now. I guess you can still ride, but it’s not exactly inspiring.
@ I know exactly what you mean, I always try to remind myself that I’ve never gone out for a bike ride and wish I hadn’t
Farewell, shrek
Long live Shrek
What pedals are you using here? 🤔 they don't seem to be the Shimano SPDs, am I right?
It is SPD. The pedals are from Shimano and the shoes are Adidas Velosamba :)
Hello there! Just finished watching your Shimano SPD video, and i'm wondering (being on the verge of getting my first pair of clip in pedals), the skids you do in this video at around the 1 min mark are backpedal skids or did you use your brakes? I'm asking cause i skid A LOT (whipskids as well) and as you've prolly heard a million times, my only fear with SPDs is accidentally unclipping. I read a lot on the subject, and until i can afford time atacs, i might go for shimano pedals with the black cleats. Curious about your take on this. Cheers, and have a great evening!
The skids are backpedaling skids. Yeah, if you’re coming from pedal straps, it’s natural to fear the accidental unclip. But as long as you get the black Shimano cleats for you shoes, there shouldn’t be a problem. However, I don’t think you can beat pedal straps for skidding.
@ Gotcha! Really appreciate the response. For a bit of background, indeed, I've been running straps brakeless for the past 8 years and got super used to that riding style, yet I'm ready to give SPDs a shot! Thanks again, and keep it up with the channel, really wholesome vids!
I live in a desert that gets over 300 sunny days per year, this to me is a beautiful break from all of that because even now in winter I can go outside in shorts and the sun is shining down as if it wasn't. Hearing the news about David Lynch's passing really set the tone for the year for me, I'll miss him and his charismatic short form videos and it's time to watch all of his work all over again. The piano was amazing btw, great vibes for the foggy feeling :)
Yeah it sounds like a nice break actually. I’m pretty weak when it comes to sun, so I totally get it. 2025 might be pretty bleak, but we will try to cope by enjoying the bike rides :) Thanks, it was fun to do the piano ;D
2:02 - säkert är den här bilen det fulaste objektet som fångats i videon. Naturen, trots gråheten och dimman, är ändå vacker.
Ja, jag håller med. Den är i en egen liga :)
2:22 These stairs are definitely rideable! Not only only downhill, but with some effort and skill (and/or proper suspension) uphill. Depending on what is placed below them, one can even full send it over the both flights, with just enough speed.
Yeah, for sure! I was considering going down them with the garbage bike but I decided not to. I have never really gone down stairs and I think there are easier ones to practice first :)
the nosferatu remake came out at the end of last year, FYI. I haven't seen it yet, but I also love the OG.
Oh damn it’s already out? No wonder it was top of mind! I feel like I should watch it. Bill Skarsgård is in it, fellow swede!
That garbage bike is ready for the scrap yard 😊
Did you hear the cracks while pedaling? :D I think I just have to tension the chain a bit :)
Nice work. Was that you on the piano?
Thanks! Yeah, that was my debut as a recorded pianist :D

Lets have a contest. Best $10 bike off marketplace
Haha yeah let’s go.
What are the songs used here!? Tried to Shazam them but couldn't get it to come up. Loved this video, the vibe, bliss of just riding - no matter the bike! You earned a sub. -Joe
Thank you my friend! The songs are called "En sjömans brud" and "Hur skulle jag kunna glömma dig?" :)
Please do use the term crappolini !
I tried googling it but I couldn't really find anyone else using it.
Thank you for the update on non usage by anyone else! HAA !
upright is the best commuting position😏
Yeah it’s fine unless you ride far, the seat starts to hurt eventually
Do the rivers/canals freeze there? I watched the thrifty frame builder ride down/up a frozen river. It was magic. BTW it’s 35C here so no ice rides today
Yeah unless the water is flowing too fast, it will freeze. 35 C sounds too hot for me :D
have you tried any other "bike" video games like descenders or riders republic?
Yeah I played Lonely Mountains Downhill which I actually enjoyed a lot! What about you?
@ I’ve played descenders. It’s pretty fun, more about doing tricks and going fast downhill than something like wheel world, but it’s a good game.
I might check it out!
Crappolini is something that popped into my lexicon of bike terms to poke fun in a courteous way at high end bike brands . More than a few crappolini bikes in my stable. All bring smiles. I don't yet have a bike as unusual as Shrek so you are inspiring me !
Love it! I might start using the term :D
@@addvurtbikes If you search google images for the word crappolini this video comes up 🚲
Hahaha really? I guess it's because it's in the comments now! :D
if you want another cm height, you can turn the stem around
That’s true! I’ll ask Felix how he feels about it :) Thanks!
You can spray hairspray (any) inside the rubber, and on the bar, then let sit in a dry warm space for 2 days, then these cheap Chinese grips stick a little better. In the end buy DMR Brandon Furclaw (or something like that) Death Grips lock on grips. Thin/hard. 16,- Euros ca. But. You will never want to use another grip after...
Yeah these grips were on the bars when I got them, they came as one of three selections for a full bike I bought. But that’s a great piece of advice and a good recommendation! Thanks!
3:24 There are plenty of great steam games that require you to use a controller, so I think this could still work if that is something the developers want to do. Either way, I think you have some cool ideas for how the controls could work!
Oh really, I didn’t know that was allowed!
@ yup! One example off the top of my head is “Emergency Water Landing”. It pops up with a warning near the buy button. “This game requires a controller in order to play. Playing with a keyboard and mouse isn't supported.”
That's interesting. I guess I have a game to make!
for the seat post being too thin, i would use duct tape to make the diameter bigger
That’s a great idea! Thank you!
Nah. Use coke cans for shims.
That's good for more permanent stuff but how do I get it to stick around the seat post when the mudguard is not there?
@@addvurtbikes maybe try the same thing just rubber from an old inner tube?
Adding that to the list of things to do with an old tube!
Absolute vibes! Love the music
Thank you my friend! It was the first time I used old Swedish music. It think it works, will probably do it again :D
Vad heter låten?
De heter "En sjömans brud" and "Hur skulle jag kunna glömma dig?"
as a owner of 2 garbage bikes... you show the whole hapiness of having garbage bikes...
Just enjoying the rides without thinking about it too much :)
This music fit the video soi well, it just felt like wholesome fun
Thank you! It was the first time I used old Swedish music :D
It's nice that you have a car free area to play with your bikes beside your house. I have a regular road that I always have to look out for cars when doing little test rides.
Oh yeah, I live in a neighbourhood where the all the parking spaces are concentrated by the road, and then we walk in to the houses. It's pretty great :)
Your friend is really enjoying the swamp bike. 😊
Yeah, I'm really happy about how it played out! :D
I need a garbage bike ❤😅
You can probably find something really cheap on Facebook Marketplace!
@ definitely gonna watch more of these videos so I know what to look for!
