I’m two parts musician (mostly guitar and mostly acoustic), one part recording engineer (using cheap equipment), one part songwriter, with a pinch of video editor, simmered over my favorite classic rock era (60s-70s), blues and modern guitar-oriented cover songs. Making music for me has always been about capturing a good performance on a recording and recording itself has always fascinated me. Multi-track recording is a way for me to create a full band sound without having to get along with band-mates (I can be bossy). I got into making videos during the covid shut down when my friends at A to Zen in Carson City, Nevada, would meet on-line every Friday night and share music videos and chat. Don’t miss the shutdown but I miss those folks and I loved submitting my videos every week. If you like what you hear, "like and follow." Thanks for listening!

Make it Good - Doug Walther

A friend’s story inspired me to come up with the following line and write a song around it: Life is a gift that you get to live…so make it good. “Make it Good” was recorded using my Strat and whammy bar. I could have called it “Try to Be a Better Human Being” because that’s what I was thinking at the time.

I started out to make an acoustic cover of this song, but ended up loving the tones from my Line 6 Pod Go on the electric guitar. The first track is live, then I layered in more guitars. I couldn't find a way to start out with the tremolo guitar and it took a few bars for me to find the groove, but I'm happy with the result. Thanks for listening.
The Dullard - Doug Walther

My dog wakes me up every morning about 3-4 a.m. to pee (get a cookie). I usually have a glass of milk and go back to bed. Yesterday morning I sat there bleary eyed and felt like a dullard in a fog. I thought that was a cool phrase, so I wrote it down. When I woke up later, I wrote a song around it. By the way… I am not one… most of the time.
Feel a Whole Lot Better - Gene Clark of the Byrds, Tom Petty

I've been a Byrds fan ever since I played my older brother's album and heard "Turn, Turn, Turn" back in the 60's. Ever since Tom Petty covered this song in the early 90's it's been my signature song in every band I've been in, sometimes to the annoyance of band mates who had to learn the harmonies and play it exactly the way I wanted. I wish I could get back in a band and perform this song, but...
All the Best - John Prine

I came late to my appreciation of John Prine. I first heard this song a few days ago while watching John perform at a Tiny Desk concert on UA-cam. He was a master story teller and a great finger picker. I'm happy to help expose more folks to his music. Thanks for listening!

You are such a talent. Thank you! There was a hotel bar in Rochester many moons ago that would pretty much play nothing but the Allman Brothers. If I remember right, it was called The Delaware.

Loved JJ Cale, especially with Clapton. They did this together. This guy isn't bad either.

I approve !!!

Bob is the #1 lyricist of all time/ very articulate which I very much appreciate.. Some don't think he sings well..Matter of opinion( I can't listen to Celine Dion HIGH pitched songs).. one can really feel he's emotions... He words comes from deep within him.... he says real stuff that some don't dare to.. I'm old now and regret not knowing about him this way way earlier.. Listen to him every night...soothing
Thanks for your comment.
