Of course, ESPN missed Smoke spinning in the tri-oval coming to the white flag. Glad I was there to attend and see the race. Also, this is my 1st time rewatching this race since I was there, 10 years this year after I was supposed to be there the year prior but was unable to make it.

I got so sick of the sissy changes that NASCAR kept making that I quit watching the day Gordon retired. Many say it was age, etc that influenced his decision but IMO he had Mario Lemieux syndrome, where the rule changes in hockey had gotten so ridiculous the best player in the game couldn't stomach it any longer....same with JG....he had at least 3 more championships to his name had stock car racing stayed true to it's roots. The rules changes IMO pushed him into retirement. Can't blame him...what could be more exciting the every driver having exactly the same car, no more contact on the track, "The Chase" and the "after he retired" nonsense called "stage racing"?
