Hey guys great video! Do you think you would require a snorkel for the river crossings?
Thank you! The rivers were easy crossing apart from one which was very fast flowing. I think the deepest was top of the wheel (33inches). I would still recommend a snorkel, we did it in May and condition could have changed and rivers could be deeper, who knows! Turning around might not be an option when you commit to it depending on the range of your vehicle… I think it is north of 500km between fuel station… have fun, it is remote though, much more remote than the Gibb River Road for example! Note: if you only want to go to tomato island from Mataranka, you do not need a snorkel!

I agree with Keith, too many people around is a bad thing but a good scone (or meat pie) is worth a long drive. Careful with that gas though, sounds like you nearly had the first Tommy Camper on the moon. Perhaps ventilated storage elsewhere is an option? It’s a shame about the helicopter buzzing around, I have similar problems with jet skis when I’m enjoying the serenity kayaking down the Murray river. Sometimes even our remotest locations can be spoilt. Either way another great video, bonne journée guys.

Hi George, thanks! Yes the reverse mirror camera is great! It is an AutoVox, we had it for 4 years and it had not missed a bit! Very easy to install as well!

What is the road like...Suitable for 2WD?
The main road is tarmac, then it is a unsealed road to Emma with a couple of water crossing. You might be able to park your car early and walk the Trak, it is not too far.

Thanks! I try to add the location we have visited in the video description. Wikicamp is in my opinion a must have tool when you travel, although they have been removing a lot of free camps!

Thanks for the vids. If you were to buy a new Tommy camper would you buy another S4 and stay with the tool box/food storage up front (that looks like a great setup) or would you buy a larger Tommy & fill the entire tray with the Tommy camper?
Great question! There are pros and cons for both. The plus of our set up is to have the spare wheel in the middle and some place for the “dirty” items like fire woods etc… we also have the flexibility to change the box to a dog box, when in the future we might take our staffy with us… or to add a second spare wheel, if we go somewhere super remote…. The plus of having an S6 is more room inside the Tommy, which could be handy for the rainy/cold days… also, you can bring the heavy items like water tanks and fridge forward…. Difficult decision but based on our travel so far, I think we would keep the s4…
