    Is the center pin supposed to protrude, like a typical male bnc connector?

    Canare prefers to sell certifications that smpte connectors outside of that are a problem to buy from them, I do not recommend them!!!

    If making a Unbalanced RCA can you use all 4 conductors as the signal?

      For unbalanced he said it is recommended to combine the white cables with the shield.

    Nice video but... 1) please put microphone in same room you are in, don't leave it somewhere in neighbour country. 2) OK so you've cut, stripped and unbraided the cable but... You didn't show us what a pain in the ass is soldering this 4 core monstruosity compared to regular 2 core. I know it because all my cable i made myself are Canare L-4E6S, but i've also soldered other cables (2 core) and those are much easier to work with. Oh and by the way, i still haven't seen any practical advantage of 4 cores compared to 2 outside the laboratory, if used correctly and with proper equipment even regular 2 core sounds the same. Great cable, durable, soft, has great shielding, but pain in the arse to solder it.

      You don't need to be in a lab. If you're in an electrically noisy environment then the benefit of L-4E6S should make themselves apparent quite quickly.

      @@Hermiel my cables are eunning near to wifi routers and PSUs, providing tons of EM noise. Unbalanced connection is not an option, because all that noise gets caught up, and the difference between 2 core and 4 core is non-existant.

      @@ThereWasNoFreeName I'll grant you that going from unshielded and unbalanced to balanced and shielded is a huge step, and that going from 2-wire to 4-wire balanced cables is a smaller step, but there are times the extra protection is indispensible.

      I found these cables quite easy to solder. Dab of flux and higher heat, no problem at all. Only takes a few seconds.

    • @ThereWasNoFreeName
      @ThereWasNoFreeName 9 місяців тому

      @@Ramsaaaa easy to solder - that's true. The difficult part is to pair them (blue to blue, white to white) and cram them in some smaller connectors. 2 core cables are much easier to work with IMO.
