ummm if you dont want a nail polish to stain your nails yellow you need to put on a base coat which is just a simple plane old coat of clear nail polish on your bare nails

a tie rack holder can hold then nicely. what i did on my delicate necklaces, the gold and silver ones. i bought a frame and pout in little hooks to hold them

Im not sure about stores in the USA but you should be able to find some holders on ebay - hope that helps.
