Union Pacific manifest in eastern Washington

Cunningham, WA. Just south of Providence Hill.

I took my wife to the airport and then drove the long way home. The weather was beautiful and even got to see a few trains. This was a little place up in the Hatton coulee south of Hatton, WA on the Roxboro Rd and just south of WA 26. Providence Hill is to the north about 12 miles.

5/31/23 near Bristol, WA. Eastbound BNSF empty oil can train makes its way thru little Yakima River Canyon just west of Ellensburg, WA. KCS 4437 (in BNSF colors) tails as the DPU.

Today near Nisqually, WA. Norfolk Southern 1178 leads this vehicle train southbound thru Nisqually with BNSF 8202 trailing. There are a group of new military vehicles cut in about halfway thru.

Just a few miles south of Ellensburg, WA

12/31/20/ BNSF 7189 leads an empty grain train through the Yakima River Canyon near the Roza diversion dam off of Hwy 821. There are a few turnouts on the road that give you opportunities for great viewing. The Yakima River winds its way through the canyon with the former Northern Pacific line on its banks. 12/31/20. Beautiful day in the canyon. This is off of Hwy 821 just south of Ellensburg. There are plenty of places to view trains as they pass thru the canyon. Today was nice, about 38 degrees. The canyon itself runs about 25 miles in between Ellensburg and Selah. You can access the canyon from both the north and south from Interstate 82.

Cold and rainy today but still a lot of fun

I chased this one from Ellensburg to Yakima. I love this canyon.
