Heard this song on Bluegrass Junction driving down the highway. OMG OMG OMG can't stop listening to this song and the band as a whole. Not sure why this song touches my heart so deeply... The vocalist is amazing and possibly the male version of Allison Krauss.. (spelling)

I think im going to buy tickets and see them in peoria on the the 13th. Just discovered them and need some live music to see. This will be my first jazz concert. Ive never heard any grateful dead songs but i checked out Jazz is Dead's first album and this video. I think it will be a good time

Fwiw- The sound live is unlike anything you have ever heard before so the phone recordings are just different than being there. The reason you hear all the crowd is because the Sphere is essential a large noise canceling arena and the sounds of the crowd you hear on recording is not there when you are there. It’s an utterly amazing sensory experience…so much so I I went back in August after seeing them in May because I didn’t believe what I saw and heard. They were better than the first time even with 3 finger John…Dead Forever!

I was there for the last 3 nights and I love that I can watch this over and over. It takes me back to one of the best times, such a good show. Love the commentary too!!

I don't like admitting I have celebrity "idols" or heroes, but Phil was a strong musical presence for me and I'm not even a player. Even my mom would stop and listen during parts when Phil was featuring. Yeah I know it's life blah blah but this really hurts.

IMO, Phil and Cassady are the only bassists who have truly earned the title virtuoso. So long Phil

subtle and bewiful and although the solo never really stopped he never really played one again at the request of the band, it was Bob Weir who never stopped Phils pursuit of the perfect solo while of course Jerry never really even tried and it shows in his not happening years like 77 for example Goooooooo Dead!!

This got me thinking about my favorite Phil solos/base lines. Caused me to remember one of my all time favorites has got to be from Dane County coliseum 2/15/73. Phil’s solo between Dark Star and you guessed it Eyes of the World is something to behold.
