Hello. I infused my comfrey in my magic butter machine and it came out super duper green. IThe infused oil is the same deep green as the leaves. Smells great but by the looks of it it is very strong. How would I use it in salve. Can I dilute it to make it go further??

Jerusalem Artichokes are considered a perennial survival food. I love them roasted I coat them with olive oil , sprinkle garlic powder and a little salt ..omg..so good! One of the main reasons beside it being an edible perennial food for me is that for 1-you can sell them for $10 and up per pound. They’re an excellent potato substitute for diabetics because they won’t spike your blood sugar as there is no carbohydrates. Also very good as an appetite suppressant..as a fiber it swells up in your stomach and intestine absorbing water by doing so it reduces your appetite. So many benefits to growing this plant.

Hello 👋, I have been a mooch for better than ten years and raised my American Guinea hogs for the cost of hauling up to 500 pounds of waste produce from a grocery store for five years. The interesting part about this is that they drank no water for the entire five years and my two biggest hogs weighed over 600 pounds each. I agree that this situation can be gone in a heartbeat. I myself am keeping the number of animals down and working with those that eat primarily grass. That’s why I have Kunekune pigs. Our next animal will be meat birds in the spring. There again I will have some feed costs but are within our budget. Money spent on feed for the animals is replacing what we buy in the grocery store and the grocery stores can go away also without food for the shelves

I had read various good things about goldenrod and bladder issues and I put it in ice cubes as well as keeping some in the jars. It tasted medicinal but nice and each night he had 2mls in a drink and loved it as it was soaked in gin (this year brandy will be the alcohol I am soaking it in) He is still here thankfully and looking forward to the next batch! The statement at 4:10 about avian influenza being contrived is woefully ignorant. Culling poultry infected with avian influenza is a crucial measure to prevent the virus from spreading and mutating into more dangerous strains that could trigger a pandemic in livestock and/or humans. It's not about unnecessarily killing birds but protecting public health and the poultry industry from catastrophic outbreaks. Letting the virus run unchecked in hopes of natural immunity is unsafe and impractical, given the virus's high mutation rate. Control measures ensure long-term safety and stability, far outweighing the temporary impact on food supply and prices. Your statements about a mythical "they" boogieman doing this to raise food prices are absurd.

I really appreciate your timing on this one right now! We arent even full "homesteading" yet. I'm not a classic 9 to fiver, I'm a GM in food service so it could be anywhere from a 40 hour work week to a 60 plus hour work week, and usually all over the place. My husband works full time outside as well,so hes pretty exhausted by the time he gets home. We also have two young boys (our oldest is 21 and she's stationed at Ft. Knox KY) I started the permanent garden and the foundation of our permaculture orchard this last spring. We also started a small flock of chickens for eggs, and likely meat down the road. That said, the balancing act is such a struggle right now particularly with staffing at my day job. So difficult, so worth it, but so difficult to get it all done and meet all the needs. I always feel like I'm dropping the ball somewhere, if that makes sense. The potential for burn out is real. And the stress tears do fall sometimes. Thank you for the perspective, and the inspiration.

Jason needs to know about a product called tru oil, it’s for finishing firearms wood and it’s a fabulous product for old handles. I learned about it in about 1968 when my daddy had a shop for leather work, ammunition reloading, and firearm maintenance and repair. Also beeswax is a great wood preservation method, but tends to be a little slick when wet, but great for the heads of hand tools

Hello 👋 Shelli and Jason, my name is Bill Warner. I have Kunekune pigs and I have said this before. UA-cam doesn’t like us leaving contact information in comments so I sent my information to your website, Shelli. I got my pigs from KC Farms in Crossville Tennessee. Another Kunekune breeder is hilltop farm in or near Clarksville Tennessee. I personally am going to get a gilt from hilltop farm in the spring so I have different bloodlines for my sows. I’m trying really hard (not literally) to get my pigs breeding soon. My boar is coming on nine months old and giving it the old college try every 21 days. I’m hoping that the next cycle she doesn’t come in heat. Time will tell, my question for Jason is, would he consider trading a couple piglets for some sheep. I have enough land to cover enough grazing for three adults year round and feed out the lambs, two ewes and a ram. Anyway, I have met you and Randy at SRF spring of twenty three. I believe that you were having breakfast at the deli there. God bless all y’all and feel free to give my contact info to any people you feel relevant to what’s going on. Thank you, Bill and Cate, 40 Shades of Green Farm, Jackson Tennessee
