This is dedicated to the Birthmark Community! A channel that will discuss all things Birthmark related! As well as documenting my journey moving forward in the Birthmark Community. My current goal is to travel across the United States and meet my fellow Birthmark brothers and sisters along the way. My passion is our community! We also have our podcast Marked Like Us. Which will cover the many aspects of what it's like having a Birthmark or having a family member with a Birthmark. Our goal through the podcast is to shed some light with others that do not have a Birthmark and/or are new to the community and would like to hear the stories of others. Our core values remain. To uplift, celebrate and champion those within the community and those that support us. As well as community connection. This is our driving force! Follow on IG.

I have a Portwine Stain similar to yours. Also have had lip surgery. While in a medical setting ( eye exam), I was asked if I had a stroke or Bells Palsey? You would think that the medical professionals would know better, but majority are clueless about PWS !!
Exactly! What’s crazy is I remember there was a dermatologist that wanted to test me for skin cancer! I was like, this is a birthmark.

Thank you for sharing your stories! I have an 8 month old daughter with a portwine stain on the right side of her face from upper lip covering the cheek, eye, forehead, and her scalp. She was recently diagnosed with glaucoma and received a SWS diagnosis, though she hasn’t had any seizures to date and we haven’t had imaging yet. It encourages me to hear and see adults living with birthmarks and related issues! Thanks for what you’re doing😊
