Maybe it's my numerous years in customer service but I would have taken GREAT satisfaction in telling that gentleman to EFF OFF. After awhile, you get a keen sense of people who are buttholes 99.9% of the day until they want something. Then they become whiny, sniveling wastes of life that will find all kinds of reasons for you to feel sorry for them, obviously because someone lets them get away with that crap. I would have said "Look, the bill is the same amount every month. You know it's coming every month. Instead of calling us to make some kind of arrangement, you burned the bill. Have full payment by end of business Friday or your service will be disconnected."
