Marking/defending Joey was less than ideal from 9:00 to 10:30, I need to stay tighter, and stop the breaks. He took full advantage of my mistakes and made things happen with swings/breaks/uplines Wally and I have nice handler movement throughout

Improvement: 10:07 (and really throughout the entire point and all of the scrimmage) I kept getting my hips turned around and that makes it harder to defend, so I need to be more disciplined, especially when tired. Improvement: throughout, better job understanding the system and creating space for other cutters Okay thing: 14:35 I had a nice hard deep cut that set up a nice gainer underneath, although I still did not do a good job setting up the ho stack

@4:52 - Someone send this to Fraser because he's big mad @5:10 in the audio for a pretty smart poach when he's in line of sight for two stalls. Bad turn at stall four when he should activate the reset anyway ;)

8:25 - When guarding Dahn, my hips are pointed the wrong direction, causing him to roast me on his downfield cut. My hips should have been pointed toward toward him or even downfield as that is where the dangerous cut would be. I also should have been positioned further downfield as the under cut isn't really even there. 9:30 - I cut upline even though 81 is already heading in that direction and has a step on his guy. I should have stayed back as reset. Because I cut upline, we were both not there as a reset, no other handlers were back, and Ben had to bail us out on the longer reset. 11:12 - Position yourself correctly and keep your eyes on your man when guarding a cut so Wally doesn't make you look like an absolute baffoon by juking one direction and then running around you as you look the other way.

Improvement thing At 4:07 I put a straight up mark on a force home which led to an easy end zone break throw. Need to stay engaged in key moments. Good thing: my cutting timing and smart throws at 15:12 which set me up for a nice deep cut to the back cone.

Same thing at 4:07, I saw the break cut and immediately went to go throw instead of waiting for the cut to resolve. Also while I was transitioning into the backhand I couldn't really see the cutters downfield (or the poacher) past your body and I still threw it, so I can be chillier on the endzone.

First point of the scrimmage I felt like I did a really good job in the handler set for just learning the system that day. And then at 17:12 I need to improve on leading my receiver with those deep shots.

So i mostly wanted to point out some instances of swinging the disc, then gaining yards off it. ---At 3:03, Chimney shows a good example of swing movement to work a goal. --The point around --8:15- good use of space and movement, 8:38 biz commits to dahm to dump, then a good endzone to learn from cuz it gets cloggy at first, to a simple poachy overthrow. I end up playing lazy d to give up a huck --Around 10:30 after we huck, they get a big around and swing, to an in cut, to re-center, to force side again. use up space, really simple and effective to snake up the first 1/3 --Next point after that, we do some really good swinging and dumping, lawson gets a force side throw in acres of space, more side to side happens til I throw away with a decision that is hard to execute --Side note, at 13:50 middle handler d goes big no around to blow up our raleigh, just a good thing to see on film. Pretty good movement and swinging and yards after that --15:20- good boise set up imo, tho all in cuts are covered. Dahm hucks to Biz. Good to watch back --18:30 Chimney goes Slushie on us, which I think is an example of why swinging and snaking up the field off of swings will be so important. We lose yards then huck, tho contested and we retry and break through

First Half Breakdown Point 0-0 to 0-1 DLACK 0:00 @0:15 Frasier rightly turns his hips, but then Assaad changes to a lateral movement while Frasier is watching the play downfield. The immediate cut after this by Mahith does the same exact thing to McGee. Jojah does something similar to DeWoody, although I think it's slightly different coming from the strike space. Happens again with McGee on a strike from Mahith. This is an issue of both field vision/attention and hip control. Mostly hip and footwork for the handler strikes IMO. Failed switch between Kindell and Frasier leads to their first goal at roughly @0:48. Point 0-1 to 1-1 OLINE @1:05 Raleigh playcall. I really like the slashing break cut Eric does to adjust to his defender closing in the forceside lane. Good shallow break throws lead to momentum pushing offense towards the forceside cone. Happy with this point. Point 1-1 to 1-2 DLUE @1:45 I believe we come out person but there is a mistake on who is guarding #3. Mullen takes advantage and throw and goes off Isaac getting caught with his momentum going forward from running down to the pull. SteveMo plays tall. Point 1-2 to 2-2 OLINE @2:15 Playcall is Boise. Handlers stutter on centering pass. Biz and Lawson don't go at the same time, but we get some good breakside flow to forceside counterflow. Turn on the endzone @2:47 from a throw too far out for Dahm. We force Pete backhand, which indicates we should expect a huck, but do not shade deep and Biz has to go up for a jump ball. We get a block under. @4:50 we fail to funnel by only striking and trying to just body out, ignoring the majority of the funnel space. Too many people are cutting. Dahm and blaine out position to win at the force cone. Point 2-2 to 2-3 DLACK @5:30 DeWoody does a GREAT job at hip control vs Jojah to start on an undercut and force him out. Mullen cooks Kindell on an upline, which to be fair, Kindell does a decent dropstep to recover. @5:48 Rice tries to absorb SteveMo's contact, but Steve runs around him and has hip and momentum advantage toward the force cone. Point 2-3 to 3-3 OLINE @5:58 Vert look with the Zoro (front zipper?) playcall. We get good initial movement, BUT @6:09 look at how blown up the vert looks. We NEED to contract back into a stack. Blaine hucks to excellent space for Eric to run onto. Point 3-3 to 3-4 DLACK @6:30 Junk look off a roller pull. We do a pretty good job containing in their handler set, until @7:15 where McGee gets split on protecting the under space while Cliff slashes behind him and DeWoody. IMO, Ben should be closer to Steve and communicate to DeWoody to match up on Cliff earlier, leaving Reynolds to Tristian. Mullen again is a killer with his throws, then Jojah bails out Max's blade over Ben. This is good positioning and bad luck. Point 3-4 to 4-4 OLINE @7:30 Diamond playcall that is partially blown up because Pete doubleteams (lol). Wally is unphased and generates a good chunk of offense from step-out flicks. Blaine blades to Joe on a good read. Point 4-4 to 4-5 DLUE @8:03 All four cutter defenders are BACKING their guys. Our orbits need to be flatter. They get two easy forceside unders. Cliff attacks Isaac's hips VERY successfully for an under. Steve does a buttonhook strike to Richie, which is an example of not maintaining the forceside dgap/orbit. Kevenn overcommits on an around fake. I like the subsequent handler D from Ryan Mann and Kevenn protecting the forceside and minimizing power position. They get off an around and win at the breakside cone after a few break throws. Point 4-5 to 5-5 OLINE @9:34 big brick pull that uncovers they are playing Z. 3-3-1 cup Z. IMO we hold the disc a little bit too much in the middle of the field and aren't making sure our forceside resets chisel toward the middle of the field (a lot of flat footed catching, ignoring free momentum steps). Dahm hucks and Biz makes a sick toedrag catch. Point 5-5 to 5-6 DLACK @10:24 Jojah #3 does a clean example of setting up his throws and cuts in the handler space to jumpstart their offensive flow. SteveMo bails out Max's hammer and then crashes into Kindell. Point 5-6 to 6-6 OLINE @11:37 Washer Motion to start. Wally runs the system with good shallow flick breaks and then a space flick huck to Joe with a great layout grab. Point 6-6 to 6-7 DKILL @12:12 Tristian and Ben with great hustle D to start off the pull. We continue to shade deep on our orbits even though they haven't hit a clean huck yet? @12:44 We do a good job limiting them to the forceside. Mahith does a good job driving Lawson under and then taking off deep. I really like Fraser's help D here and body control. This is good swarm defense example that doesn't work out, but makes a 85% throw more like a 60% throw. Cheers boys, good first half of O, learnable moments on D
