Making my wife’s Christmas present!
What’s up everyone!
Welcome to part 1 of my wife’s Christmas present!
Let’s take advantage of this beautiful price of A36 steel and turn it into something beautiful together!
I do have a bunch of material to remove and there will be many processes to this piece! If there is something you would like to see or a process in action! Don’t be shy and comment away!
Cheers everyone have a great day!

How long did that one piece take to finish? What was the beginning weight and ending weight?

@@USMC1984 hi brother! Roughly my end is 20 hours + lathe timing is 30 hours Total part depending on timing crane games lol 50 for roughing and turning only Weight coming in 19 500lbs. When our process are complete that are around 16000lbs then off to gear cutting and it still has another operation in a mill Cheers 🍻

Today A colleague said that running such a big part is unusual for us. Blank was 220mm Stainless. To be fair, for our shop it is.... What's the diameter of the piece in the Video?

Toshiba HBM’s are wonderful machines, but the electronic parts are expensive as hell and may not be in stock even from Japan
