Making my wife’s Christmas present!
What’s up everyone!
Welcome to part 1 of my wife’s Christmas present!
Let’s take advantage of this beautiful price of A36 steel and turn it into something beautiful together!
I do have a bunch of material to remove and there will be many processes to this piece! If there is something you would like to see or a process in action! Don’t be shy and comment away!
Cheers everyone have a great day!

How long did that one piece take to finish? What was the beginning weight and ending weight?
@@USMC1984 hi brother! Roughly my end is 20 hours + lathe timing is 30 hours Total part depending on timing crane games lol 50 for roughing and turning only Weight coming in 19 500lbs. When our process are complete that are around 16000lbs then off to gear cutting and it still has another operation in a mill Cheers 🍻
@@MadMachinest so roughly 3000 lbs of metal shavings on your floor! thanks for the answer!
I love it hahahahaha!!!! Perfect intro!!!!
Yeah buddy!! lol glad you enjoyed it!
Nice vid mate.. is it a boring (HBM) or a horizontal machining center (HMC)?
This machine is a HBM 💪Toshiba BTD R22
Best video ever
Thank you Max!
@@MadMachinest your welcome
Best video ever!!!
That's a nice DoC to be running at almost 200 inches/min! Btw I haven't seen that nice looking black and gold vise anywhere else... what is it??
Thank you for the compliment! Good eye my friend! The MadMachinest has some tricks up his sleeve! I will be introducing them on here when I am ready! 💪 next generation work holding 🤘
Good to see the machine run!! Cool that it can do rigid tapping. I'm excited to see what comes next :D
What’s the cost if you scrap that billet? 😂
Imagine! Cost of a solo billet can run you 60-65k usd 🤭👊
@ You could get a nice machine for that price! That’ll make you double check your program 😂
@ bro triple check hahaha
Today A colleague said that running such a big part is unusual for us. Blank was 220mm Stainless. To be fair, for our shop it is.... What's the diameter of the piece in the Video?
All good brother to each our own! And this pc is 90 dia x 12.00 thick 👌
What is that part for?
Hey man! Honestly I am not sure.. my guess would be the mining or Marine industry! Thanks for asking 👊
@MadMachinest-o9s any chance you can show the print?
Message me on Reddit and I would DM it there.. I am not comfortable showing the world, but I did sends these to shops for quote.. hit me up on Reddit 👊
@MadMachinest-o9s almost worth starting a reddit account. Here and very occasionally on X is my max on social media, thanks for the offer tho
Toshiba HBM’s are wonderful machines, but the electronic parts are expensive as hell and may not be in stock even from Japan
I wanna work on big stuff like this 😭 currently running a lathe making tiny parts. The biggest part I've made at this job was a 4 inch OD plastic flange thing
One day my friend! Keep at it!
A great-looking piece of steel
Thank you brother 🙌
Eco Run!!!! LOL!!!! This is great content, I love to see it, please post more as you make it!!
Yeahhh buddy!!! Video and live you saw this! 💪👊
