Leia and Han are wiser and braver in the Sequel Trilogy than they are in the Original Trilogy, but the same sadly can’t be said for Luke, in The Last Jedi, where he is flanderized to death quite literally, he irrationally puts all the blame on Ben Solo’s fall to the dark side of the force on the Jedi and himself for almost killing Ben in his sleep when Snoke and Darth Sidious were responsible in reality, and chooses to do the wrong thing and exile himself on Ahch-To refusing to help the Resistance save the Galaxy from the First Order or train a new generation of Jedi fearing that he might become tempted with the Dark Side or the cycle with a Jedi joining the Dark Side of the Force will happen all over again, choosing to hide from his fears instead of fearing them despite Rey and R2’s constant attempts to goad him to come out of his exile and do what’s right for once, and reprimands for no longer being the Luke they once knew from the Original Trilogy, to the point where Luke has to be lectured by Yoda for giving into his fears and doubts instead of facing them and for not accepting his past mistakes and not doing what is right for once, leading to Luke redeeming himself for his behavior by force projecting himself on Crait to distract Kylo Ren and the First Order to buy the Resistance time to escape though the effort cost him his life. Luke also returns as a force spirit recovering from his horrible flanderizations and getting his original personality back to advise Rey not to repeat the same mistakes he did in The Rise of Skywalker and the Luke Skywalker we all know and love from The Original Trilogy returns in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett and as a cameo in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
