Do not scrub the pot with that sand block. You want patina. Don’t make ok’d pot new. You want food water/mineral deposit on it. Kind of like antique furniture, it lose 40-50% of the value when it is refinished.

I love your tank. I am currently working on a 210 reef tank. Just set up my LED lighting yesterday. I hope you don't mind but I think I am going to use your tank for a bit of inspiration. Your tank is lovely! Can I ask is your tank open at the top? Do you have any problems with jumpers? My tank used to be open and we lost two fish due to jumping out. I wish I could have an open top because I think the lighting looks great with an open top like yours!
