    Hi Loren. I’m glad my videos are helpful. For the strength of medicine I use 10u is .25mg.

    Hi Michelle! Thank you for your videos. I’ve kinda been on my own to figure it out. I’ve hit my goal weight. I only lost 1 pound per week. It took me 4 months to hit my goal. Please tell me what you consider a unit. I started at .25 mil. and went up to .75mil. I stopped cold turkey and my cravings are over the moon. My last dose was July 14th. It’s now been 5 weeks. Thank you in advance for your recommendation. I need the maintenance dose but I’m not sure what you consider 10 units. Loren

    My personal experience was to start at the lowest dose possible. One strange thing happened when I decided to get my hormone levels checks for perimenopause and I started a little hormone. My appetite skyrocketed for a short time but I got over it before increasing my dose. So far 1mg tirzepatide for 6 months and 3 to 5 for the past 12 months. 18 months total. Start weight 191 and now 136.

      Wow that's awesome! Well tirzapetide mimics a hormone and hormones are all interconnected so that makes sense to me.

    For the First injection- 1:30 Do your patients take the full .25 of semaglutide (5units) or start out with less?

    • @michelleclay3535

      I start my patients at 10u which is 0.25mg of the strength my compounding pharmacy offers. Occasionally if a patient has taken Ozempic or Wegozy in the past and had a lot of nausea or side effects I'll start them at just 5u instead.

    I take Mounjaro 5 mg I have ALOT to lose, it's been a journey for sure. I noticed when I get very stressed the stress eating wants to surface. I'm really hoping to stay on the 5 mg dose ordered by my APRN for a long time. I seriously have to increase my protein and exercise. I really don't want to increase my dose

    • @michelleclay3535
      @michelleclay3535 Місяць тому

      Yes making sure you prioritize protein will boost your metabolism and help you stay feeling full longer. I also normally recommend that my patients add intermittent fasting as well which helps lower insulin levels and allows your body to burn fat more effectively.

      Yes I do have some patients that have had a total thyroidectomy due to a cancer diagnosis that are taking GLP-1's for weight management. Medullary thyroid carcinoma in particular is a contraindication but none otherwise.

    How many units is considered micro dose?😊

    • @michelleclay3535
      @michelleclay3535 Місяць тому

      A small dose that just reduces appetite. So no where near the maximum dose. So for example, semaglutide's maximum dose per week is 100u/week and most of my patients do very well on doses of 10u-40u/week.

    Do you start at the lowest dose and increase it until they report reduced appetite. And how long do you leave them on it. Are you adding more medications when they become resistant or at what point. Thank yoh

    • @michelleclay3535
      @michelleclay3535 2 місяці тому

      Yes I start typically with 10u and increase the dose by up to 10u until appetite is reduced and then keep them at that dose. We increase if they start reporting increased hunger or cravings by another 5-10u. I don’t add any other medications.
