Not sure if you did that intentionally, but you’re supposed to pull the arm saw into your work pieces not like you showed. The saw blade is going to want to climb up on the work piece. Push to stock into the direction your wheel is spinning not behind the wheel. Like the idea of the thicker table. Looks nice.
you are running it way too slow
Thanks, but I always start the machine off slow in case there are any errors like too deep of a cut. Also African mahogany tends to be a really stringy wood so I was aiming for a cleaner cut on the design.
@@MyLifecraft The solution to that is using a rough pass follow by a final pass. Low speed would make your bit dull super fast.
There was a rough and final pass in the design in this video. Also low speed only dulls your bit if you’re burning your bit. A cut 0.15” deep isn’t going to get hot enough to dull a bit. Thanks for the feedback though.
Great idea!!
Thank you!
what was the price of the CNC?
I got the CNC without any accessories for about $4500.00, built my own table, and then I bought the spindle for another $900.00 roughly. So it was around $5400 for my setup. I saved for quite sometime for this thing, but it was definitely worth it!
Couldn't you attach a vacuum tube to keep it clean while its cutting?
Yeah I could get a boot for the CNC but I spent the last of my money just to get this thing lol. I even built my own table for it to save on the purchase.
@MyLifecraft cool.nlol I'm still looking for space to set one up. Lol.
Dope! U keep or sell the stuff you make?
Thanks. I sell a lot of it, and keep some of it. This table was for a local customer.
Muito bonito, mas parece que você é conservador, sendo que deixa a profundidade da fresa baixo e avanço lateral alto.
Thank you. I usually leave the bit out a bit so the collet, doesn’t hit the workpiece.
This was a nice project, it turned out great.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
A wood worker that makes beats, or a beat maker that works with wood? Doesn't matter either, way he's good. 🪚📐🎛👏👏
Haha thank you. I have a lot of hobbies lol
@@MyLifecraftsell me one bruh
the first cut was running at 20% feed rate 😢the bit was crying for more speed, give the bit its well deserved speedyfeedy
Oh I do lol. I just wait to make sure the file is good and everything's going smooth.
I love my ONEFINITY. You also know you could do your final pass with the machine. Just do an outer trace for the vectors and give it an offset of about 0.05 and cut it out with a 1/4" endmill. Much cleaner and easier. Try it on your next project. Other than that, the piece is very nice.
Thank you. And Yeah I was going to do that actually but decided to leave the edges on so It lay’s flat when cutting the keyholes in the back out. I should have explained it but I didn’t really think about it when editing the video.
@@MyLifecraft i make same my DIY cnc machine, lot hour go cutting first rouch and then small bit fine cutting, i rouchin first 2 different bit, first i use 1/4" bit and then i used 1/8 bit and last fine cut has 0,3mm V bit. i not remember how fast has feed. but i think has too slowly , go 4 hour rouching and then 6 hour fine mill. picture size has 24 x 32 inch.
Awesome looking job.. Maybe a suggestion for next time, make a contour path to cut the piece out at the end, make some big tabs to hold the piece in place.. A lot less to clean afterwards.. And you will have the sides to align when you make the back keyholes. :) Good job..
Thanks I appreciate it
@@MyLifecraft Definitely tab the outer contour, that was rough to watch you fight cutting that out when you have that nice CNC machine. Could have keyholed the back first as well. But this is stuff you learn as you get to use that awesome machine. Tape and CA would of been an option here as well I dont think you were to worried about any kind of thickness tolerance. Teach and learn keep up the good work.
This looks great man! What was your time to cut?
Thank you. I think in the end it came out to around 10 hours
@@MyLifecraftthat’s a really good carve time
looks good! What a CAM Software you use
Thank you, the software I use is Carveco. Super easy and user friendly, but you have to buy a yearly subscription. But my CNC came with one year for free
@@MyLifecraft Vcarve aspire have better software.
Looks great! Did you make that file?
Thank you, and no I bought this one from a shop on Etsy.
This is awesome , im also doing a few larger carvings from beautifull white bluegum up to 2500mm long scenes of African wildlife
Thanks. And wow that sounds awesome. I love this kinda work!
Wow that came out stunning. Great job!
Thank you very much!
Awesome work! A labor of love! How many coats of the wood stain did you use and how long did you let it dry in between?
@@NickAndTech Thank you. It definitely is. And I typically only use one coat of wood stain.
Oh, very nice! I need to put my 1F to work - Christmas is coming!!!
Thanks, and yeah I can’t wait to make some Christmas stuff!
Nice, what type of wood is that?
Thanks. The wood I used in this video is African Mahogany
@ Thanks my friend!!!
How did it hold up, is it durable? You said you applied it to that piece that already had some sheen to it, have you tried it on untreated wood to see how much sheen it actually gives?
I haven’t tried it on unfinished wood, but it definitely makes the finish noticeably smoother, and I haven’t noticed any light scratches in the epoxy since I’ve applied it. It does seem to add a bit of extra strength from light scratching.
@@MyLifecraft Thanks for the quick response, you must be a real person! 😁 Well the price seems to be nice compared to the 'N3 Nano' or the 'Carbon Method' ceramic applications, have you used either or those in comparison?
Yeah definitely, the price is why I bought it. I haven’t tried any other ones yet, they’re too expensive for me.
@@MyLifecraft yup. Thanks again, have a great night
You as well
your video was very informative. I have to move two items. first is a 12 X 15 shed and second is a 20 ft container that is 8 ft wide. do you think those dual wheel sets will handle these loads? your assistance is greatly appreciated. ty
@@ezyjack826 hard to say, this was a 10x10’shed, and I remember the tires were really stressed. Maybe if you use an extra set of tires, or a higher quality tire?
@@MyLifecraft do you think it would help if I was to double up on the tires by putting two on each side to give four on each dollie?
@ezyjack826 I’m sure it would make a difference for sure
Brilliant!
But i've got no trees!!!
Interesting design, tested for strength?

@@Martin1519 Than you, I really appreciate that!
Congrats on starting your business! 🎉
Thank you very much!
Did you ever cut a miter slot for the fence? Also, just a suggestion--put a coat of paste wax on top of your polyurethane finish to help protect it. It will also keep it nice and slick...and paste wax is cheap so you can always apply more + it repels dust so it will be even easier to clean when you're finished cutting.
No miter slot. the whole table is adjustable back and fourth incase the fence is off.
Nice build, but a lot more than I am capable of as I have neither a planer, nor a jointer as yet. I'll have to stick with building a table from 2 pieces of mdf for now, glued together and then worry about a fence afterwards. Right now I'm still in the process of tearing down my RAS and it's cabinet stand and refurbishing them. I have the cabinet stand finished, the base in rust converter primer and the saw, post and arm all apart waiting on cleaning, new bearings, new wiring, wire wheeling the bare metal parts before clear coating them (pawl, thumbscrews, handle rods, etc) and priming and painting the saw (yoke motor, etc.) and arm. The post will stay just as it is because it is cadmium coated from the factory for lubrication and that stuff is toxic, though I will clean it with wd-40 and shop towels. It's an ancient old DeWalt MB RAS made in 1956, but it's built like a tank.
Hey buddy, I’m making a top for my 40 inch box but I need to round the front edges. Any idea how I should do that
Yeah absolutely, there are several ways to make a round over. You can use a round over bit with a router, you can make the round over by hand by sanding it down, or you can bevel it with a chisel, and then sand it to a round over.
@@MyLifecraft thanks, never done this before. I bought an oak work top need to cut it down
Thank you. It’s a beautiful saw. Well worth every penny. You got a great deal. !!!
Too many times you say “ I am not a professional “. Beautiful saw though. I wish you would have mentioned the cost.
Yeah your right haha I honestly didn’t notice at first. But only with specs and what not. I am however a pro at woodworking. The cost was a little over $3,000 for the saw, and that was on one of Harvey’s Spring day sales.
Most dangerous way to cross cut wood out there. Just use a chop saw
What? This miter gauge is literally made for table saw cross-cutting.
How much
Looks like this polycarbonate is another sort than used in ballistic polycarbonate. Second type stretches more and doesnt cracks. Anyway 308 surprised me.
Yeah I’m not sure exactly what type of polycarbonate it is, I got it for free from a construction company that was tossing them. I was originally going to use them as windows for wood projects, but the protective plastic cover was baked onto the sheets.
@@MyLifecraft After yours I watched a lot of videos and yandexed the theme and found that lexan can be 80 to 160 MPa Brinell hard and impact strength is 20-140kJoules/m2. Whereas acrylic is 120-180 hard and 1,8-18 kJ/m2 imapact strength . Most pistol rated glass have lexan-acrylic-lexan structure - it is sen because acrylic makes "stars" around a bullet while lexan makes little round trace. PS So sorts are very important for lexan
I really want to do this for my snap on tool box, but I don’t have any carpentry tools to work with.
you can probably do it with as little as a skillsaw, and small joiner, or hand plain. Alternatively, many cities and towns have local woodshops that will rent out their shops per hour.
That is a nice cabinet!!! Have you tried the log wizard for shaping? If not it attaches to your chainsaw and you can shape wood 💨 fast
Are you referring to the Router bit cabinet I made?
Is that a 55 inch box, if so what length and width did you cut it too I’m about to do the same thing
Tbh I don’t remember, It’s been a while, I did this too for a friend, he sent me the measurements and I made the top that size
@@MyLifecraftgotcha no worries I appreciate it
Hey I enjoyed this video. I am a complete novice but I am very intrigued by the Shaper Origin. I tried to check out your online shop but there seems to be a problem with it.
I appreciate it. My shop is down temporarily because I’m currently in the process of moving to a new space. So as soon as I’m in my new wood shop it will be back up.
Crack Repair? I don't think so!! All that work and you Still hsve a crack which makes that piece of wood worthless to me!!
Good thing it’s not for you then huh?
😏 "Promo sm"
Pretty cool reverse video effect
Now the question is did you put bearings in the holes on them gears
no bearings, they're just holes in the centers with bolts through them.
What type of tools did you use to make that joint? Possibly a Bosch router
Video title indicates it was made with a Shaper Origin handheld CNC router.
