I've been practicing law since 1986. I've been using laptops in my practice since 1998. I agree with your advice regarding buying a powerful laptop. I lot of people will say that as a lawyer you're "only" doing "low intensity" tasks like email, Word, and web browsing. In my experience, there is nothing more frustrating than having your computer bog down or hang up while you're trying to get work done. My mind is much more likely to wander and I'm more likely to be distracted when I'm watching the spinning wheel of death or my computer is frozen. The lost productivity far outweighs the cost of upgraded CPU, RAM, and hard drive. I recently bought my first Apple laptop. It's a 14 inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 18 GB of RAM and a 1 TB drive. There's a learning curve after 26 years of Windows but it isn't insurmountable. Is it overkill for me? Probably. But I tend to keep my laptops as long as I can. My previous Lenovo X1 Carbon was 7 years old. While I agree with you that bigger screens are better, there are additional considerations. When traveling that extra pound of weight adds up after a long day. I recently worked on a plane trip and a 16 inch never would have fit on the tray table. The guy in front of me was reclined the whole time. The 14 inch just barely squeezed in with the screen more upright than I would have preferred. The 16 inch would not have fit at all. A 16 inch will also take up more space on small tables etc. If you're working at home or in an office, then you can always plug in a large monitor or two. Over-all I love the MacBook, especially the Apple ecosystem and how my phone works with my laptop and AirPods. It has never bogged down or frozen. Next , I'm getting an iPad for digital note taking and client conferences. Thanks for the video.

Great story. My story is somewhat similar. LA Valley LAUSD honors classes and highly gifted IQ program as well. Undergrad entrepreneurship. Business or Law School after LA undergrad decision as well. I put in 5 years at a few other litigation firms including my mentor’s, before opening my own virtual firm in 2009. Now 20 years practicing law and 15 years at my own firm, always continuing to evolve. Great content on your channel my friend.
