That's not Camila's album cover. It's just the back cover of a free picture magazine they gave to fans who purchased something from her pop up store. Charli's font is Arial and Camila's was an actual font specifically created for CXOXO album back in February with teasers always leaning on the color blue. Rihanna's "Cockiness" from 2011 is credited in "I Luv It" and is not a copy of any Charli songs. The one you pertain to in "He Knows" is from Orejime's "Give It Up 2 Me" who is also credited in the song. The main pioneer of hyperpop, Sophie Xeon who also worked with Camila on her first solo song after she left 5th Harmony, wanted the genre to be more mainstream someday. She'd be thrilled to witness many incorporate it now into their sound if she were still around. But Camila's album is not hyperpop per se. The theme is "love letter to Miami" which is a melting pot of music and culture so she wanted to incorporate different sounds (afrobeat, hiphop, r&b, pop, reggaeton, club and play with synths) to this album. The hyper femme energy of her album was sparked by the feature she did with Stromae on “Mon Amour” back in 2022 and the song writing inspired by the book “Letters To A Young Poet” by Rainer Maria Rilke (not waiting for her life’s questions to be answered and letting things be as they may as she navigates life post break up). It is her first album with no co-writers. She wrote all the lyrics by herself (of course samples and producers get song credits). BOTTLE ROCKET ON THE CARPET, this and the rest of the lyrics are actually clever imagery of hot passionate s3x. The lollipop? Really? The photo you flashed and described as disturbingly similar and makes Camila a horrible artist, man come on. Video camera, white clothing? On top of a car? Upper body close up shot? Artists having an instagram page for their album? Having your head out the window? Really? You think Charli was the first one to do all these things? This is a classic case of red car theory. If you want to find correlation and malice on everything, you certainly will. Charli suffered from these accusations too in the past. Charli and Camila are influenced by what’s already out there in existence. They didn’t invent things from thin air. There are a lot of videos and articles of Charli praising Camila’s artistry and songwriting skills and Camila has always talked highly of Charli, too. I wish people were more discerning as opposed to just blindly hopping on the hate train coz it’s trendy. Charli is an amazing artist and there’s no need to lambast another artist just to prove how cool Charli is.
