I understand not wanting to contribute to fur farming. BUT some places get so cold that it’s necessary to wear fur. Fur is worn by a lot of indigenous people as well. As well as going out and buying NEW furs, I can understand why people wouldn’t want to support that. But you can almost always find furs in decent consignment shops and thrift stores. Sometimes if you’re REALLY lucky, you can find some beautiful pieces. Also try to understand that fur coats were a status symbol for a long time and those “old ladies” you’re talking about may have had their furs for a long time and they may be very meaningful to them. I know my abuela LOVED her fur coat and I’d never seen her feel more beautiful than when she got dressed up and got to wear it. So maybe try not to judge. 🤷🏻‍♀️ to each their own.

In the U.S metropolitan areas like NY, this is very common as well and not just seniors but models sport faux furs. This is the trend that comes straight from France. You live and learn darling.
