Ruined Dice Tower for medieval style games At the time of releasing this video I am working on a modular board game in that setting. The idea of this dice tower is you can use it as a terrain feature and piece. Here is an example how this can be done. If a player miniature is on this tile, it cannot be seen or attacked by enemy. Finally bought myself a tablet, downloading Nomad sculpt. We talked here on YT some time ago, and you are the person that inspired me to start sculpting. Now that journey starts for me. Will binge watch all your videos again. Thank you for sharing!!
@@CarnivoreChris89 that is freaking exciting. What tablet did you get? There is another program called PoseIt if you are interested in making miniatures. I think if you have a window based tablet the rigging is compatible with nomad. Not sure unless I’m confusing app. If you have an iPad you manually have to rig the pose. I have rigged a male and female figures. I don’t know if they can be shared. If you join my discord (Free) maybe I can start a help centre that people can share tricks and things. If interested I can direct you to videos I used for the rigging. The nomad discord is great. There are a couple of creators that are actively helping. You just ask and it’s like 24hrs support lol. One thing i would suggest if you havent already is also tiles of just the larger square stones to fill out the areas between the streets. The results looks perfect. Ive played a lot of Mordheim in the past, and I can visualize your part of the city already. I also find your process exciting. Please dont take this the wrong way. What often stops me is everything has to be perfect, so I end of becoming tired of the projects. You seem to approach your projects being playful, and almost "let the piece decide for itself how it turns out". I will reflect on that, and try to adopt the same mentality. Great episode, as always.
@@CarnivoreChris89 thank you so much for your comments, it is energizing to hear people thoughts and views from your own things. It does put things into perspective, and those perspectives can only make you grow as an artist, a creator, a fan, as a person and so many other aspects of things. There is no harsher critics than ourselves. Every opinion or point of view is an opportunity for self growth and discovery. Nothing to take the wrong way. I’m a perfectionist as well and my harshest critic. And yes you are right, I trigger the build and the build tell me it’s story while creating it.
Definitely tons of variables with filament printing. The tentative nature of it reminds me of baking, honestly Thanks for the amazing tip with printing filament at 45 degrees! I’ve done that with resin printing but I’ll have to try it next time I get my hands on a filament printer
@@thelastnerdjosh thank you for your comment. Yes, printing is so finicky. It’s not like printing on paper. I print differently pending on season, we got 4 in Canada lol. The most stable and easiest filament I found printing is the mid grey. Light grey is brittle. The matte black is amazing, but horrible to clean the supports. The clear is so brittle. Doing any hinges and swivels really doesn’t work. So many things to look out for.
It is really entertaining following your thoughts through out the episodes. The viewers learn as you learn, pretty cool! And I learned a few things about blacksmithing, bonus knowledge!
@@CarnivoreChris89 thanks, I have to figure out a way to add more of it without making the videos too long. @@CarnivoreChris89 I heard the new iPad Air can use it, but I haven’t tried it or know someone who used it. I’m guessing it’s more powerful than my 2018 pro. But don’t base your purchase on that. The surface pro might also be an option (you can use zbrush I think it’s better than Nomad and Nomad was purchase by zbrush recently), not sure of how stable or battery is on those. I commented on another of your videos, and thanks a lot for answering - That's why I love small creators like yourself. (Although, if you keep this up, you will grow.) Thanks to you, I am going to invest in an iPad and Nomad sculpt. I'm setting some goals for myself to be able to make my own terrain, and then see where that takes me. I have been playing around with TinkerCAD for a long time now, and I tried sculpting with mouse and keyboard in Blender. It's a behemoth and to complex for me, I must admit. At least for now. Thanks again, Slurgical!
@@CarnivoreChris89 you are very welcome. Thank you so much for your support. I first touched CAD with TinkerCAD, it’s a great software to understand the basics. I used to make a part for my fancy pants shower that broke using non standard parts and replacement would have been more than $300 CDN and a 6 months wait. Cost me about 25 cents to print including prototypes. You can do a lot with as little as possible. I tried blender, made the classic doughnut, felt glorious….but blender was too much for my brain to do anything else lol. I really wished I could have used Fusion or inventor but I would have been limited because I can’t really work at a desk for long. If you need any help or stuck, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can reach in my discord channel, I have no plan of making anything fancy in there except for terrain talk and nerd talk. It can feel overwhelming, but trust me, the moment you get that a-ha moment that will come without warning, it’s going to feel glorious, the fog will dissipate. If you need to walk away for a bit, thats ok, I did many times, and still do. I’m trying to make miniatures…I had to take a step back after I learned the rigging.
@@CarnivoreChris89 your comments and support means a lot, and I couldn’t do what I do without people like yourself being genuine, creative and thought provoking in creativity. Your crafting is very inspiring and pushes others to want to create and share as a community.
