Why put the fanbase through unnecessary pain and suffering, the school needs to cancel the football program and turn the program into a Seminary graduate school. Give them cassock robes and Bibles, use the NIL for spiritual awareness missions. This would be an easy transition for the faith based culture there now. OU is a woman's softball school. Hook'em! Sooners face the most important game in the schedule. If they lose, their death-spiral is becomes reality. Venables third year on the job is worse than his first. What happens on any team starts at the top. Whether it is hiring subordinate coaches, maintaining a team attitude and culture or improving from year to year, it all starts with the coach. That is the way it has been at OU under Wilkinson, Switzer, Stoops and even Riley, with each of the great coaches delivering incredible numbers, games and players. Venables is not this. Texas has hired Steve Sarkisian, a great coach, who can hold a candle to the OU luminaries. Until OU finds a real coach, they are screwed. Sooners will pooh pooh what I am saying today, but at the end of this season when OU has lost more than they have won and dwell close to the basement in the SEC, they will replace Venables. If they do not, they will become what Texas has been for the past 20 years and stay there for an extended period. I suspect OU will lose a number of their signees in the 2025 class and lose current players to the portal. This will last for years until OU hires a great coach to turn it around and it will take him additional years. This not your daddy's OU. This OU will struggle to remain relevant. In a couple of years we will look back fondly at the glory years of OU. I watched mighty Nebraska for years only to see them become irrelevant and sad. I see Oklahoma as the new Nebraska with years of mediocrity ahead of them as they watch their long-time rival replace them as the great new addition to the SEC.

texas could have easily been in the 50's if Ewers didn't play so poorly. Receivers were wide open and not hit. Hard to believe Oklahoma could have such a bad offense. Venables will need to make big changes.

Afalava is my favorite recruit, kind of like J Jackson was my favorite commit last cycle. Insanely underrated! A dude who could come in and push for serious PT on day 1. Looks different than his peers. Violent as it gets. He will be a star at OU and beyond. Book it

J Jackson was criminally underrated. Go watch his film, and I don't mean highlights. Go watch a whole game or two (ffwd through the offense), and you would see he caused pure pressure and chaos all game long. He also never left the field. I'd say Stone benefitted from playing next to Jackson and visa versa. Criminally underrated even after the last second bump he got because it was apparent the scouts never looked at Jackson when they were drooling over Stone to that point!

Sometimes it feels like the OU hype right before decision day is used as a means of securing a bigger bag from their target school. Not always but enough to make notice.

Add another 20 lbs, he has a significant belly now, he needs to be on a program from Schmitty and lose the "bad" weight, then add quality muscle. You guys get so crazy over weight but belly powder really is meaningless, fat isn't a twitchy muscle fiber that adds strength and explosive power and actually fat is cumbersome to an athlete. He is going to be a great addition and once he gets his body right his potential is very high. Nice evaluation my man keep up the good work..!!!!
