Just had this vid pop up on my timeline. Thanks for showing both choices! I prefer the Spirit-Cole. He pushed through the Veil to help, not to become human himself. He only became 'Cole', taking on the persona of the young man that died in the tower, because he wanted to help him even after death. Helping him release that negative need for vengeance let him see himself again. Sure he is a spirit, but he has his own personality. He chooses who he helps and how. Human Cole is a selfish choice in my opinion. One sold to us by an idealist. I mean Varric is a writer, one who puts his protagonist in weird and awful situations and then lets them come out as a hero due to some clutch final choice or event. Varric wanted Cole to experience life, to show him there is still good in this world. That speaks more about Varric than Cole. So imo Solas is right; don't mold Cole into something new, just release the negative anchor from his soul and let him be what he wanted to be; someone who helps without needing anything back. Leaving the world a better place, not for his own enjoyment but simply because he can. I find that a more natural solution than binding a spirit to a body of a dead person. The real Cole died, Varric is trying to safe that person while Solas is trying to safe the spirit that came to help.

If you speak to him in Haven, you can ask him if he's celibate. The conversation leads to him getting really flustered and gives you one of those "Maker's Breath, can we speak of something else?" moments. lmao. If you romance him, there is also a few times in the war room that are adorable. Like when Josie is talking to him and he seems really distracted and one time when you enter he seems really eager to talk to you and gets teased for it. lol
