I can't believe you're law professionals working with Ukrainians and trying to both-side issues without any clue about the subject of "the other side" or "other experiences" and where the "information" abot that other side comes from. Ex.g. the narrative about "Ukrainian speakers against Russian speakers" expressed here are pure Kremlin's black-propaganda nonsense. Also comparing this "conflict" with any other ones of this century is showing how little you understand about it. More importantly, how on earth can you decide which laws to implement for justice in Ukrainian or international legislation if you're this confused about Minsk agreements and what happened in Ukraine ex.g. in 2014-2015? You also seem to misunderstand what "Soviet history" or current disinformation means to any justice. To reject it doesn't mean implementing a new "nationalist" history, but returning back to mostly factual history by rejecting a genocidal revisionist one. Do you understand that the "other side" is increasingly the most ultra-nationalist in an unorganic, skewed sense there can be and none of the information coming from them and occupied territories can be trusted? To learn at least about history from 2005 or 2013 onwards and why Minsk agreements are not exactly what Russia said they are, please spare some time to watch what Russians themselves outside the power circle have found out about this war and what led to it. Here is a partially translated (with English commentary and captions) explanation of a Russian investigation of what happened, especially 2013-2015 in Ukraine. If you haven't got 2,5H to spare, you can start at *~**45:00* or go stright to description and click the first link for the original documentary only, but will have to contend with captions only. There is no version dubbed in English, though there should be. If i was a native anglophone, i'd try to voice it myself, certainly worth it. He graduated high-school with excellent grades , drives himself to his job , makes his own medical appointments . In short , he is an amazing young man . We are so proud of him and love him so much .
