Thank you for this ♥️ one thing to add though- I spent 45+ min holding space for my toddler who was absolutely melting down. Then I realized it was past snack time. I gave him a few bites of banana and he started to calm down. Then gave him some protein. I want to avoid fixing his feelings with food, but I think he had genuinely gotten hungry? 🙃 would love any thoughts about that response

Toddlers don’t know they’re hungry or tired, those are definitely things we have to try to watch out for. It isn’t “soothing” his meltdown with food, he was probably just hungry 😊 you did the right thing. Even I get snappy when I’m really hungry or tired 😂

I regret a lot the moments of extrema fatigue i had during the pregnancy for my toddler in the mornings to hand her the family videos to look at . I did as much as i couls to prepare the environment in a Montessori mainly or waldorf way but that was extremely difficult sharing the engorged with my ADHD horder mum and having no energy for the day. I am gratefull it was together we watched documentaries and and classic bLlamory or other shows i grew up with come outside is great asan option learning a lot so slow paced i liked that the most but still am so happy that as soon as i gave birth it was back to normal. I also noticed i am addicted to the phone again now since i joined facebook groups and WhatsApp groups for home education parents. I literally don't think about it that one they're sleeping i waste half an hour on my phone until i get onto self care.

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing these perspectives. This is the vocabulary I am looking for to help with advocating for this kind of approach to parenting and how we treat ourselves as children, and to reflect on how we are influencing the behavior of our children through what we are living in ourselves toward them and what they are experiencing that influences the way we react to them in our words, mannerisms, tonality, etc. This is what the world needs so badly. This is literally life-changing world-changing stuff. I can't believe this doesn't have more views yet but I guess it's a sign of where we're at and just how much this is needed. 💗
