Just Let Go, Its Worth It- The Law of Detachment
@Mitch.IsMitch Letting Go is hard. Really Hard. Putting yourself out there with no expectation of an outcome is tough. I know I want to have an idea of where I am going, and embracing that the future is unknown is hard. Learning about The Law of Detachment is a beginning of stripping away my importance on the "perfect" outcome and even on the outcome itself, but the experience. The action itself. The journey. Thank you all for watching!

How Capitalism Sparks Competition and Creativity in Art
Переглядів 3День тому
Art and making Art is a rebellion. Even this, even something as silly and incredible as this can be a form of rebellion. Because it is looking at the system that does exist, and tries to work around the system, or break it, just to show my piece. And I have to believe in it, in mine. As you have to believe in the art that you are making. CONVICTION #ArtAndCapitalism #CreativeCompetition #Artist...
Your ART should be CONTAINED
Переглядів 2014 днів тому
@Mitch.IsMitch Art is entirely subjective, and that is what I love about it. Also, with capitol 'A' Art, there is a wonderful power to containers. Be it the medium, the style, the message, there is always some form of container that we use to present our Art to the world. Like lasers, containers can exist to propel art further forward than it would with no barriers. Like riverbanks, containers ...

Very intense stuff… thanks for being❤. Needed a refreshing, honest video to help me cope and recenter at least for a couple hours. I hope it gets lighter and that sharing lifts up the sorrow. The detachment in taoism and buddhism does not mean not grieving. Grieving is part of that, and remember the steps are not sequential. Not an expert, but from my understanding detachment has to do with the flexibility to flow through our emotions. Depending on the practice. Some Buddhist schools encourage to sit with our thoughts and emotions, others to picture them as arrows or spears heading our way and transform them into flowers and let them wash over you and disappear. Other schools call us to reflect on the practice of monks that create extremely complex and beautiful art that is brushed away as soon as it is finished, reflect on the impermanence of things and the beauty of that impermanence. In Taoism the flow with the Tao is sometimes described as the leaf flowing on a river, or as the water itself: flexible enough to move around rocks and find ways through the ground, at the same time strong, firm and constant to (with time) break through the obstacles in the path. I once heard a taoist monk reflect that there is no such thing as inaction, that the decision to remain still for however long one did was in itself a deliberate action, and that one should reflect upon what drove that decision and the purpose of that silence/stillness. Did you remain still/silent to avoid? To recuperate? To listen to yourself? To heal? Or to hide?c
