SUMMARY
Discourses on the exploitative nature of generative AI and its effect on the art and entertainment industry are prevalent, with arguments on both sides stating not only whether AI art is ethical in its usage of artists' artworks as training data, but also whether they can be considered "art" at all. In our video, we recontextualize Brian De Palma's 1974 cult classic Phantom of the Paradise, a film which satirizes the exploitative music industry into a cautionary tale folktale on generative AI and its exploitative nature.

Indonesians are a very musically talented people, the most talented in South East Asia. In Singapore, there are beautiful Malay songs like Tanjung Katong, Geylang Sipaku Geylang, ChanMaliChan, and of course Dayung Sampan which i learnt in school. I thought it was Malaysian, but now i realise it's Indonesian.
Lemme ask something, why does old Indonesian feels more... epic. Like all the wars and the songs they made are more epic than nowadays things here
came for bengawan solo, got a history lesson instead
im indonesian and i never knew this song was this famous.
And then there is this country who claimed indonesian culture
yeah... that damn europe colonial thiefing
13:20 history is repeated. nowdays, many singer didnt write their own song, they covering somones song.

Wow wow just wow As an Indoneshit cock Country this shit hit hard
Musik keroncong sangat digemari dari yang tua sampai muda . Dengan tiupan suara suling , genjrengan ukulele dan gitar , hingga gesekan biola yang indah banyak disukai dari dahulu hingga sekarang. Alfatihah buat sang maestro Gesang! Karyamu akan tetap abadi....
Halo, baru nemu video ini. Suka sekali ama video2 dokumentary tentang Indonesia yg di jaman awal Jepang masuk seperti video propaganda Asia Timur Raya. Jarang banget bisa nonton yg spt itu.
Lah baru tau wak🙂
Why does the narrator sounds like shes on the verge of tearing up??? 😭😭
Begawan Solo is another one of those songs that evoke nostalgia, for example my young self, like Sukiyaki.
ok
This song is "DIFFERENT"
What a story...very true...Gbu.
I don't know if it's just me being too young to know, but i've never really heard of bengawan solo. I really loved learning the song and and the history and i hope my peers get to see this amazing video too!! love from Indonesia
pls make a skin or smth that makes them happy
Mind blowing.. Indonesian here, great to know.. 😮😮
I think I can't watch it🙈
Yes, Bengawan Solo and Selendang Sutera are reminiscing of colonial era and proving the fighting of our elders made Indonesia be independent free from colonial. Thank you for brought this history to internet Broadly Specific Team ❤
Im an Indonesian, but i've never heard of this song
Bergaul dek
lagu legend itu, tahun brapa ditahun lu emaklu masih muda lu blm lahir
i see in the mood for love, i click
Yeah you dumbass Indonesian. Youre too focused ranting your own people you thought youre smart enough dumbing down your own people
I'm from Surakarta, so proud of Mr. Gesang🤍🥹
As an Indonesian, I'm surprised this didn't come up in the history books - or perhaps it used to back when Soekarno was still the president? The idea of the Pan Asian seems good though, seeing how the western nations exploit their colonies (even to this day). I wonder how Indonesia would've been right now had Japan won against the allied forces then?
damn, I dunno that this song was this recognizable
Ketika denger berasa di tahun tahun 1900
YOU HAVE SUMMONED THE HORDES OF INDONESIAN PEOPLE
RIP Gesang
The Bengawan Solo River is not as beautiful as it used to be, there is a lot of batik factory waste. Many fish are dead.
And textile factories
Never heard this bullshit
Doesn't mean you have to call it bullshit, weeb
vvibu bau bawang
Is there a source of true love that shares the benefits of goodness with humanity on this earth?
13:22 Antônio Carlos (Tom) Jobim, that is playing the guitar in other end is a prolific singer and songwriter that wrote both the portuguese (with Vinicius de Moraes) and the english version of Garota de Ipanema (girl from Ipanema).
China and Japan may hate each other, but at least they agree that Bengawan Solo is a certified banger.
My granma's house is actually near bengawan solo in Bojonegoro, East Java. When i was around 4-5 y.o, everytime the water are calm enough(not that high/rising in the rainy season), i used to swim there with my granpa and cousin. This song brings those memories and hit me like a truck 😊 what a nice song~
"Air Sungai Bengawan Solo Menghitam dan Bau Alkohol, Diduga Tercemar Limbah Ciu & Tekstil" (republika Dec 2023). Currently, all that remains of Bengawan Solo is the song , the river is badly polluted.
Current pollution from RUM factory Sukoharjo
lagu legend itu, tahun brapa ditahun lu emaklu masih muda lu blm lahir mungkin,
16:13 This is in Manila! I thought it may have been a scene from China or Hong Kong, but it’s actually from a scene in Manila during the 1940s 🤩
Melody reminds me of old school hokkien taiwanese enka songs
Oh my goodness Every song has a historical tale behind it, which is as fascinating as as the song itself It sounds so beautiful ( a very hackneyed cliche) even though incomprehensible Thanx Anu
Over here we call this song "Tagimoucia Ga"
I’ve never heard this song in my life. I’m surprised so many people have heard it. Clearly I’m living under a rock
im an Indonesian and i also have never heard this song
This mf is lying never heard this song before this vid liar lair pants on fire
