    Neither intuitive nor user friendly. Easy to forget to ‘tap’ during the pressure of a game, especially when putting. Try and find instructions on how to end each hole (not mentioned in tutorials!!!). Idea good. Execution very poor. Most golfers will find this too much of a faff to use when playing.

    💯 agree. I recently sold a bushnell v5 shift and then my club decided to use the same colour flag on every hole getting rid of front middle and back colours. So I needed a scope again and bought one of these. Easily as good as the more expensive option.

    I know we're amateurs but its wild how many people here are asking why you cant plan your 2nd and 3rd shots. Thats not how golf strategy works guys. Your tee shot is in a fixed location with a fixed lie so you can plan it, but youre plotting a dispersion off the tee of like 70 yards for Driver. Your 2nd shot location and lie will change drastically every time, its completely counterintuitive to plan the 2nd and 3rd shots beforehand.

      Hi There, including putts from off the green allows the V5 to better track your shots and provide more accurate stats at the end of the round. Whilst we ask you to input them putts from off the green won't be including in your putting stats but will be included in your short game statistics.

    Shotscope will know that it's the long game which is the main reason for differences in handicap and that putting doesn't contribute quite as much so drivinf for show putting for dough is a load of nonsense

    • @num2166
      @num2166 4 місяці тому

      I would say there is truth to the drive for show putt for dough based on my own experience, when I was 30 I could hit the ball further with my driver than anyone I met at the time except a couple of guys who were practicing for a long drive competition that was being held in the area. As for those two guys I was doing a fair job of staying close to them. All of that is to make the point that I still couldn't break 100 back then. Now I am 60-70 yards shorter and while not a great golfer I get upset if I cross 100 going the other way. Putting avg last year 1.79 putts per hole. Driving distance avg last year 254 yards, throwing out lost balls.

    True, and then I'd think you need to attack the why you made those doubles or worse. Putting? Chipping? Irons? Driver? For me, 70+% of them are from tee shots, either OB or being in a position to not advance it with the second shot. I'd love some lessons from the amazing PF to fix that.

  • @heydeereman1040

  • @vitobarfalone6060
    @vitobarfalone6060 5 місяців тому

    I agree with this approach. I'm not a professional so I don't hit any club dead middle in the face every time. A 3 wood or 5 wood has much less margin for error than a 460cc driver. The key for me is to choke down on the driver to the length of my 3 wood and then swing away. If I hit it anywhere around the middle of the face it'll stay in play. If I hit my 3 wood anywhere but the middle of the face it'll go offline more than the driver.

    Stats like that are extremely misleading. Safe can be on the fringe.

  • @bultmagl
    @bultmagl 5 місяців тому

    Sure. On average, when not accounting for any other variables such as: lie, thickness/depth of rough, stance (uphill/downhill/sidehill), distance to pin (shortsided vs plenty of room), slope of the green, individual player skill etc. Also, SS data has a heavy bias toward UK golfers where the bump and run is a staple shot. There is no one size fits all answer. You need your own data for your own game and be able to assess the shot at hand to make any kind of decision about club selection. Why stop at 5i? I use putter. It's the least loft and gets me the most UND. But then again, the times I use a 60 and times I use putter aren't statistically IID. So, comparing UND rates between them is meaningless.

  • @dominicblattmann3763
    @dominicblattmann3763 5 місяців тому

    So true. Take your performance avarage and map it to the back of the green for longer shots. Works great.

  • @dominicblattmann3763
    @dominicblattmann3763 5 місяців тому

    Again, false interpretation of statistics: 3 wood is taken on narrow holes with narrow fairways. It is just logic, that on those holes even a 3 wood has a lower chance to hit the fairway than a driver on a wide open fairway. You have to compare this stat hole by hole, not overall, and I am pretty sure it will show the truth. Btw.: don't take a 3 wood with you, take a 5 wood. Thats long enough on tight holes for every golfer below scratch.

  • @dominicblattmann3763
    @dominicblattmann3763 5 місяців тому

    There is also a bit danger in this statistics: I have to take the 60° over bunkers, over water channels, from rough lies. If I misshit that, the hurt is much bigger than the 9i from the fairway just in front of the green. So logically the overall shotscope stats says the 9i is way safer. Sure, for most mid and high hcp golfers it is still better to use less loft. But for me the 60° is just 7% less effective than PW...and I am pretty sure this is because of much more difficult shots. And yes, on a flat straight shot I use PW. I think more important is that you are confident with your choice. And a last tipp: whenever you can, use the putter. I would love to see proximity stats from off the green with putter vs 7i.

    The obvious question, what’s the difference between the V5 and the X5? Considering I’m a V3 owner that upgraded to the X5 when it was released. I liked the physical buttons on the V3 and get a bit frustrated with the X5 in the wet weather relying on the touch screen to interact.

    • @theblackrabbit2626
      @theblackrabbit2626 6 місяців тому

      I thought this too. A quick check on the website: X5 touchscreen. Personalised hole maps. One colour theme. V5: Buttons (no touchscreen). Full hole maps. A few colour themes for the screen (not the strap, the screen). I'm downgrading from the X5 to the V5 I think... the X5 touchscreen is more hassle than its worth even in dry weather but especially in wet. I never use the X5 personalised hole maps (the game needs to be made FASTER on course, not slower!) and maybe I'll choose white and green for my watch display. As long as the battery lasts at least 18 holes, I think the downgrade will be an improvement!

    Does the up and down with you 58 degree include bunker shots though? This is what I am confused with in my data. This is not comparing like for like if it does. Comparing your 7 iron at 100% up and down rate against your 58 degree (assuming you use that out of a greenside bunker) is never going to work. What I would like to know is if this does include bunkers or not? If it doesn't then this comparison becomes a really valuable data point for practice or club selection on certain shorts, but if it does then it is somewhat useless.
