Kindness 'Gee Up' live
Переглядів 66512 років тому
Kindness play their second ever gig at the legendary 100 Club in London. Here they played a killer version of 'Gee Up' with a touch of Womack & Womack thrown in... Destroyed the place! It's straight off the iPhone so the quality's pretty appalling... Still, gives you a sense of what was going down. Loved it.

Farley's rusks.... gallons of warm milk n loads of sugar...😋😋 sweet n warm as a bowl of warm milky Farley's 🤔👍🏼.... they're Grrrrrrrrrreat
Love Martyns vibe. Such a gentle guy
Volkswagen's tune is by Dom Thomas - German engineering
we used to all meet at the Daylight Inn, Petts Wood before heading to Shoom - miss those days
in the same eschelon as frankie knuckles, alex from tokyo, levan, dj claudio cocculuto... new york btw is still very much segregated, gentrificated etc…also, the younger generation does not know, but harvey is absolutely right @ 15:30, you didn't go out in NYC or in the US or anywhere else for that matter during those times to hear a specific DJ (i would add well into the late 90s even tho DJs were becoming the focal point…particularly at raves)...., but you STILL went out to experience the sound and atmosphere of the club. DJ culture did not exist back then, and it wasn't about the dj, it was about the Club Culture or even Rave Culture. we know this because back then people communed with the music FIRST and then each other and pretty much nothing else and certainly not mobil devices because they didnt yet exist, for the masses anyway. Again 35:58, correct. Clubs are no longer known for their Name, but rather as event location for promoters. This implicitly detracts from the music.
Such a legend! The kids today should study this man. He is the true real deal and has inspired some of my favorites (wicked crew). Thank you Harvey!
Nothing but respect for that man x
Tonka at the Zap was the day 👍👍👍
what a great guy
Melodrama, people actually stand for Farley, looks like an extra from Last of the Summer Wine.
Love Helen Reddy! 😂
The cultural impact of Goldie is incredible. Love how deep it is. He speaks so well about it all too. Legend.
The far out German tune is probably KRAAN, and if it isn’t I bet someone from the band will know the band. If you like this check out kraan- let it out, kraan- Andy nogger
Farleys like a pair of those wind up Joke teeth.
Love these guys, gorgeous melodies, arrangements, and production.
The best of all❤❤❤
OMG. 🙄😳🤌🥰❣️ I’ve loved you since DJ HARVEY L.A.SESSIONS on Compact disk🤌🤌🤌❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Goldie will always be the iconic figure of Drum & Bass.
When milkmen DJs took over?
I might be mistaken, but I feel that these guys are the true UG
This reminds me of when I was playing the Simple Minds on my stepfather's hi-fi and he said "who's this?" Then when I told him the name of the band, he said "they've got that right". The Idjut Boys seem like total idjuts!
Don't remember a Virgin Records in the 80s in Cambridge. But Andy's on Mill Road first, I think, and then next to the Grafton Centre.
Todd who?
My first record was a copy of Autobahn by Kraftwerk. It was in a cupboard of a house we moved into when I was 4. That shaped my love of electronic music I think. My brother and I destroyed the 7” trying to learn to scratch in about 1985. Sort of regret that now.
good interview...but fuck....the camera werk is BEYOND annoying. intentional focus/refocus. intentional realign.....so lame. I can't watch....I can only listen. the camera is BRUTAL.
fucking legend
For some reason all this time I thought robert was british.
So good to hear Goldie talk.
Grande Bottin 👌
21:10 is actually Dutch: www.discogs.com/release/1777279 ;-)
Dom Thomas - German engineering
The Piano in this Supertramp song is not a Rhodes,.. It is a Wurlizer mod 200...! wich has also has unmistakable sound of it´s own,.... ;)
Ooh the ? David Camerons favourite band - Stupor tramp.
And still after all these years i get goosebumps from inner city life. Timeless album for sure.
missed this first time around. Thanks for the upload tubbs
Got a faint memory of him playing at Lynford film studios, in battersea around 1992 ish with roy the roach and judge jules . Those were the days 🙂
The greatest musician of my lifetime. I seriously don't think anyone will release something like " Timeless " again...it was the right time...the right people that got together around Clifford Price... I deeply love Saturnz Return which sounds phenomenal today...not so much when it came out...mainly because people were into Ed Rush/Optical/Dom and the likes... His greatest achievement is his Label...I don't know what DnB will be without his Label...
Metalheadz forever man 🙏🏻
Brilliant interview ! :-)
How has this got no hits, he was a fucking genius.
trust^

Sorry Terry...you would get murdered over Chelsea with that shirt mate 👌🏻
Dave is a dead ringer for Micky King from Didcot.
Heaps of Farley, Shoom & other club & track refs. for you in the free e-book London Watch House - tapas.io/series/LondonWatchHouse/info
Heard him end 90's & late 80's in the Zap Club Brighton with Tonka.
This guy is full of mystical wisdom Juice!!! I'm getting only good mystica wizard vibes from him!!! learning is one thing.. wisdom is another!! this guys is not a dj!! he's an artist!!
