Nice video. Track width was shown in feet, does it have function to show in meters?
Yo do a good thing - higher temp fluids may perform better under "race" conditions, but you have to be VERY careful - 1st. they need to be changed more often (1year) and 2nd, it may create problems on the installation, gaskets,o-rings,etc.
+iSeeYou good tips... so far i havent had any problems with pre-mature wear on gaskets, o-rings, etc... however, most of the cars i have used on track have been less than 5 yrs old. i will definitely keep an eye on these in the future
It's true for DOT5.1 fluids, proper racing fluids are DOT4 (often called "Super DOT4"). They are like other DOT4 fluids, they don't need particular maintenance. If you go on track, you change fluids more often anyway but in a sports car that is not a track only car, it doesn't matter that much. FYI: DOT rating is not only about boiling point, it has to do with the constituent that show how fast the fluid will detoriate with moisture absorption. About gaskets and o-rings wear, any Glycol Ether based fluids cause that. The car he is working on already use DOT4 fluids so he will never have any problems about that (except for normal wear with high mileage cars).
im a newbie to wheels and can you explain why you went with the front et22 and rear et20... i want to do the same size wheels to my e46 m3 coupe
+sonnystale the front and rear wheels are the same diameter (18inch) but they arent the same width. they also have different offsets. because these wheels are staggered. they are wider in the rear compared to the front. for an e46 m3, you should also be getting staggered wheels with wider rims in the rear compared to the front.
+sonnystale i believe this size works pretty well for e46 M3s... Front - 18x9.5 +35 offset Rear - 18x10.5 +22 offset. volk wheels makes these sizes/offsets.
is that the pressed graphite color?
+sonnystale yep, this is the pressed graphite color... hope that helps !
about 300€
How much does those cost??
Yes they still use 10W60 in e90 m3
great tutorial - i have just got one of these and i am having trouble setting up a new circuit. how do i do this ?
Thank u I forgot about that
do you have problems with leaks?
they don't use 10W60 anymore for M engines eather 5W30 or 5W40
hi como estas fíjate q yo tengo uno de esos del video el q estas usando pero perdi todos los accesorios cargador todo q posibilidades hay de comprarlos o ver como los recupero tendras alguna idea
search the following on youtube - "How To Check Your Power Steering Fluid Level On Your BMW". the reservoir should be in the same location for you.
Hi! I have bmw e92 320d and i cant find where to fill steering wheel fluid, can you help me?!
haha yes... blame it on the "M" tax.... you can get the same fluid without the FM booster thats much cheaper but some people have reported diff noise when they do use that fluid.
48??!!!! :s
i ordered the fluid from bavauto... just google them and their website link should come up. you can also get it at your dealer. it should help with your noise if it is coming from the differential.
Where hAve you order that oil? I hear some bad noise from my diff but i cant find this gearbox oil
+1 for velcro!
Yup I agree thanks well presented now I look forward to getting mine when it arrived fitted to my bike :)
Excellent presentation - showed me what I wanted to know - thanks.
thanks man!
Te37 sl on m3 is nice
i am going to tremblant July 13th. event is organized by viper club in conjunction with a local bmw shop. lots of Vettes, vipers, bmws will be there. i can send you the sign up info if you like.
Yup, I'll be there in July as well, see you there! I NEED to get to tremblant! What club do you recommend?
gotta miss the june event unfortunately but i'll be there in july! did you sign up for july as well?
Sweet! Are you going to the June CMR event? I'll be there.
oh cool. it was my first time at watkins so i didn't know most of the guys who were there. i am going to check out that video on your channel.
Hey! I was there! That was Dave that crashed... I have video of it on my channel.
there's a vid by BavAuto thats titled 'Changing The Power Steering Filter & Fluid On A BMW' ... search for it, thats pretty much what i did. its a pretty good DIY.
When you flush it do you remove the reservoir or just suck out the old fluid with a transfer pump?
i really don't think a change of the reservoir is needed unless your car has really high mileage or is really old. with frequent flushes (i do mine every 10 to 12k miles), the reservoir should be relatively sludge free. i agree with not going to the dealer to buy parts from them, everything is usually grossly overpriced at the dealer.
NAPA sells it for $22. My dealer quoted me $38! Even with my CCA discount it's way overpriced. I'm about to do a flush soon so looks like I'm heading to NAPA. However, BavAuto says to change out the reservoir too which is $78 at my dealer.
bullshit
@somendnguy yeap, my oil change is due in about 2 months. i'll be posting a DIY when i get around to doing it.
Thanks for the video! Any plans on making a DIY video for an oil change for an e9x M3? Cheers
@m3pOwEr4LIFE the color of the decals i got from acromann was 'process blue' i was hoping they would match the oem blue TE37SL decals that i already had on the wheels, unfortunately they are still not light enough (acromann doesnt have a lighter blue then this). as for blueberry, i believe its a pretty dark blue, but it will not be as dark as carbon black or jerez black. so unless you have other blue items on your car, maybe black would be better? or go match your brakes instead!
@timberwolf125 excellent review of the TE37SL. My square set-up is arriving tomorrow and I can't wait! I'll be running Michelin PSS 275/35/18 on my e46 m3. Just a quick question, because I too order decals from Acroman lol. Does there deep blue (blueberry) match the original Volk Racing Wheel decal? The color of my ///M is carbon black and I'm trying to match it as close as possible. I was actually planning on buying yellow volk decals to match my Brembo brakes!
@timberwolf125 yup, premium package. I've just always seen the two attachments that the m3 mirrors had and figured they were more aero and lightweight.
@DavidKneiber 335 mirrors fold too.... as long as you paid for that option when you bought the car!
Hmm, i didn't know the m3 mirrors folded (i have a 335i).
So much better than stock!!! Reminds me of the RS4/R8 sound, my all time fav exhaust note.
