You can also imagine the prices of drones in the US will now go up significantly, as DJI was a cost-efficient option, while the White Stork products will most likely be the same monopoly soon as Google has in the information area. So they just released some drones at night on the US east coast, all lit up, then naming it "covert" and putting in some shills in the media telling how it were drones meant to monitor nuclear particles because of some nuclear weapon from Ukraine. Then immediately the government spokesmen with a clearly scripted denial so the general audience can point at them and say "See, they are clearly hiding something!", so people would be in hysteria from some unknown threat, so it can be rushed through. That's all folks! :)

Who knows.. It's a complex issue, where the US will play a key role, whether by standing on the sidelines or intervening. I agree that Taiwan is not a priority for the rest of the world, the narrative of "justice for democracy" is a farce and only used when a war can be started to sell a lot of weapons and weaken enemies, see the RU/UA war. But Taiwan has one unique aspect that may play a key role, specifically semiconductors that come in about all of our modern electronics: they produce well over half of the global supply. Trump is already bracing for heavy negotiations with China because if he really wants to implement tariffs, he cannot afford to have China too many bargaining chips (no pun intended) in this game. So if China takes over Taiwan, their position gets even stronger and they will rule about 70% of global production, something the US cannot (yet) afford to do, no matter how much Trump would like to shift production back to the US for self reliance. As he has to get the economy in order, he cannot yet afford to start bringing industry back to the US. He will have to stall such a move, which means he may have to interfere in Taiwan, even when it counters his own promise of keeping out of foreign wars (see his latest speech on him not wanting to interfere in the Middle East, "let them fight with each other"). So it is highly complex and unpredictable, which makes it difficult to say anything for certain. You are doing right by ignoring mainstream propaganda, there are some excellent political analysis podcasts where they discuss the situation more deeply, though unfortunately there are a lot of operatives from different nations as well trying to change the appearance of what is happening. The comment section under Joe Rogan's episodes are hilarious when he has this ex-CIA guy Mike Baker on every 3-4 months or so to talk about nothing for hours to mislead his audience. On the Ukraine war I am following a podcast daily for real news, but I know that the guy is heavily Russian minded and I sometimes wonder whether he is part of their propaganda, to counter all the Western propaganda. Where the US is basically using most Western media to spread its message and most of Europe is captured in this as well. We are in an information war, which makes it difficult to see clearly, the messaging is most often used to nudge people, not to inform them of facts. This whole drone situation is again an example of a diversion: the US government must know what it is but they consciously keep the public in the dark, most likely for some narrative they will soon reveal. They always come up with something new, just like the half dozen different "dangerous viruses" they tried to pitch in the news in the past few years to create another plandemic scare, so far without success, luckily. I can even imagine they are just testing the grounds on how the public reacts to the latest BS propaganda, they are fishing. So the only thing you can do is to ignore all the messaging and stick to your own strategy of what you want for yourself. If you want to stay there and accept whatever comes your way, then it makes no sense to live in fear of something that may never come and could have happened for years now. Because when it comes, there is very little you will be able to do. But if you do not want to accept the risks that comes with such an insecure future, you may want to start working on an exit plan. And I don't mean the quick exit but a planned one, for your long term future. Decisions like these are the hardest in our lives, but at some point we all have to plan our future. If you don't have a long term plan, then a sudden crisis may force you into something you never wanted to be part of. And if your plan is to stay and accept things, then even a crisis will not deter you from your path.

You're joking! :D The good news: the fact that you are asking this question shows you are way ahead of the millions that are fast asleep, trusting on things to continue the way things are anywhere in the world, because "it has always been like this". Who trust their governments, their institutions, the social net, their neighbours, etc. or just have no choice like you to move away. Purely by asking this elementary question about survival, you are already giving yourself a chance to avoid a bad situation, whether it's a rightout war or just an economic collapse that drags you down and undoes anything you worked for, what you saved up, etc. Confiscation in crises even occurs in Western democracies, nobody needs to think that in Asia it would not happen at a wink and a nod. The bad news: by the time anything happens, it's too late to act ;) Crises are not random events but are planned well in advance by the powers that be. But even if we assume these are totally organic, it doesn't change the fact that there's a playbook that these powers follow every time, depending on their intent. If their intent is control, the first thing they have in mind is securing the assets: whether it's savings accounts, pensions, real estate or any other (in)tangible assets, you're screwed. Especially if you're not a local, on an island and intending to "export" your wealth. That's a major no-go for those at power who want stability, because if they allow exeptions, it can start a stampede that leads to economic collapse, which leads to the collapse of their power. If they want instability (to cause chaos which they use to gain power), then what better tool than to disrupt the economy, which again means your wealth down the drain.. Whatever happens, the common folk are always screwed during a crisis, because the opportunists always abuse them for their own gains, especially their wealth and savings. I have been involved in contingency plans in the past (not in a macro environment but in a corporate one, which makes things simpler) and people would not believe how a simple thing like a leak of an airconditioning system could flood the servers of a datacenter, resulting in global outage for their data processing, costing them millions in a matter of hours, not to speak of the fallout in terms of lost customers, goodwill, lawsuits, etc. That is why most serious companies already have a secondary site in place with fully equipped offices with constantly up-to-date desktop units for their staff, backup servers, etc., where their staff could immediately move in case of any "special event". These are called "cold" or "hot" sites, depending on whether you want to have it up and running by a press of a button, as if nothing happened. Now imagine the same, in case of an invasion, when it hardly matters where you move within the country.. Yep, the stuff of nightmares for planners. So to the core of your question: if you want to have such a contingency plan for yourself in case anything happens, you should already have one in place now.. Especially because moving your assets may not be as easy, unless you have already transferred all of these to your country of escape anyway (Canada, if I understood you well during previous talks). But then, to complicate things further, who knows what happens to your assets under Trudeaux in the coming months and years, seeing as how Canada is little China by now.. But I guess I am not saying anything new here, so if your question is whether you should extract your assets just in case anything happens by way of contingency, then my answer is a definite YES. ASAP. Not because you should be afraid that anything can happen. But because if it does (and we know there is quite a chance it will at some point), at that time it is too late to act. Why hoping that they will allow your transfers, personal exit, etc.? On the type of assets, that is probably a totally different discussion, because it is not really related to a crisis like what may occur in Taiwan, but rather an investment strategy by itself. I would go for divesting your portfolio as much as possible, but all of these should be fast movable, whether it's bitcoin, physical gold that you buy in the West (even online) on accounts there or have it stored in bank vaults through family, etc. So what I would definitely NOT do is having only a local Taiwanese bank account where you receive your salary, perhaps only in local currency even and not having transferred most of these to the country you will eventually settle in. As for your personal physical safety, that's something I have no clue about, it is an inherent risk of being in a country that is known for being seen as the back garden of one of the most powerful forces on the planet, which has claimed often that it does not respect this tiny country and is not exactly known for being soft handed when it comes to their agenda. It is basically totally up to your sense of security, commitments to stay there or get the F out as soon as the sh*t hits the fan or go all disaster tourist on it, hoping you can go under the radar.

I really hope so, I'm getting tired of not being able to just like rainbows. And being afraid to say wake up to people without having to worry about being mistaken for a shitlib. And on the other side, I am also extremely exhausted from all of the toxic road rage I receive from Men In oversized red pickup trucks who are triggered at the idea that I drive a 12-year-old hybrid that gets 70 Mi to the gallon and only cost me $200 a month including insurance. It's not my fault that they shop to overcompensate for other things lacking and aren't able to just shop sensibly for a vehicle and let people live their lives. ... as you can tell, I am neither a Democrat or a Republican and don't want what either party has to offer. My prediction is that it will get worse. What you're seeing is the calm before the storm. The thing to understand is what "woke" really is in entertainment. What Woke is, is an attempt to broaden already large niche products to hit previously untapped markets, instead of developing new products to hit those markets. This generally undermines the existing product, as what made it appealing to its current audience is removed to make it palatable to a theoretical audience that wasn't all that interested in the product in the first place. So why is this about to get worse? Donald Trump. One of Trump's major core policy sets is deregulation, which means that with him taking power, there will be far less enforcement of laws preventing mergers and acquisitions - which is what these big companies do instead of creating new stuff. Really think about it - Disney didn't need to buy Lucas Film to create space fantasy movies in the vein of Starwars. It didn't need to buy the MCU to make superhero movies. It bought these things because it was easier to buy an established brand that was already popular on the market than to build their own new IPs. Mergers and acquisitions - that's what these companies do instead of innovating, and the net result is the death of creativity in the market. A company can only really focus on so many product lines at any given time. Try to produce too much, and attention slips, and with that attention there goes the quality. So these companies will end up killing off smaller IPs to focus on a few big brands. They will not gamble on small projects that could grow into something amazing, they'd rather go after than one big bet. But these big brands, as huge as they are, don't have that much room for real growth. They're are close to market saturation - so in order to try and grow these brands, they will be remade for "modern audiences", or the people who aren't already watching or playing. The market incentives under a Trump administration are just perfectly set to ensure that all the problems that create wokeness make a comeback.

Woke is just the surface effect of a deeper agenda. It is basically fuelled by propaganda, with an agenda to change society. The masses are groomed to propagate this social wave by those in power pulling the strings, playing at their emotions, especially on those of minorities. DEI for example (Diversity-Equity-Inclusion) and ESG (Environment-Social-Governance) are meant to enslave us through compliance on a corporate level. If you don't comply, those that invent these social and corporate rules empower themselves to punish you, so they make money on it. This trickles down to society until the average Joe and Karen become hysterical propagators of something they never would have thought of themselves a decade ago. Classic Divide and Conquer to set people against each other and increase control. But the flaw in the plan is that it was bound to fail from the start, because it devastates the economy.. Look at Hollywood: all their BS movies and series are now tanking because nobody wants their garbage anymore. The same goes for companies forcing this ideology, like Bud Light, Walmart, Target and now the most recent, Jaguar. They are incentivised and pushed by DEI and ESG, because they get tax rebates that way when they comply with their finance overlords. But even a blind man can see that there is a market mechanism and people don't want ideology, so they turn away from those companies and when stocks start falling, the companies are forced to reverse this course, by pressure of the shareholders. The phase we are in now is downstream of what major corporations already went through: a few years ago already Bloomberg and some major voices said that ESG is not working because it cannot be defined well and companies do not see positive effects. They still keep pushing it via politics, but the market is no longer accepting it and we can now see the downstream effect, when most companies have reversed course (at least the smarter ones) and soon they will all go back on a course of normalcy, understanding that their days are counted if they continue the madness. And the election of Trump shows that people are fed up with ideology, when it pushes them into recession. This is happening all over the Western world now. But the overlords will never give up. They have been beaten, for now, but the end goal remains the same, only the methods will change: to get us all in digital slavery where they can take away everything from you with a press of the button. Once there is no cash anymore, everything is digitally steered, they can push as much woke propaganda on you as they want. But right now, they don't have the power (yet) because they cannot force you to spend your money on BS. Once they control your money, they will determine what you spend it on. The timing of "woke" was premature, which was a strategic mistake: people will be much more resistant when they try it again. Just like with the "health shots": hardly anyone wants them anymore, because people learnt from the past 4 years. When they try again (and they will), they will have a much harder time. I for one am glad that woke is losing power. There will always be brainwashed nutcases on that dead horse, but I am a huge movie fan and it is clear that Hollywood needs to change course or it will be gone forever. And since they have always been an important propaganda tool to brainwash, they cannot afford to let it go under.
