Hi, thanks so much for your videos. I'm about to apply the carbonaut but I wanted to ask you if the kryosheet or a latest generation phase change pad would be better. How about putting some additional pads around the console and behind the X-shaped heatsink block? Some do but I would like your opinion. Can you give me the exact measurement of the PS4 Pro APU? I would also like to take the Kryosheet and divert the Carbonaut to the PS3 Super Slim in case. But since kryosheet is much more expensive I would like to take the smallest cut possible.Thanks again

My Ps4 been working real good. one morning tired play game disk drive would make any running noise to pull disk in.. want do anything to take a game inside. So i purchased new disk drive put in it. Still does something you don't hear the running noise to pull dish in. Could something else went out on it.? Thanks”

Mine shows 12v from the two that you usually connect to show the power button is being pressed and in the center when i put just the positive of my tester i get 12v but when i put both positive and negative it drops to 0

I wish I knew your thermal paste trick befofe doing this myself. I ended up holding the board flat and carefully placing the chassis on top of it without moving the pad, lol. Luckily it worked

Man thank you so much for the video. İ almost gave up on the carbonaut idea but thanks to your tipps i think i can make it work. İ have kryonaut applied to my ps4 pro at the moment but the fan starts creeping up after about 10 days. İ have repasted it 3 times now. And yes İ did get rid of the liquid metal completely each time on both the die and the heat sink. (polished out the stain on the heat sink). Now i ordered some carbonaut and I'm gonna give it a shot. İ hope it will be more consistent. Thank you

Does anyone know the dimensions of the ps4 pro die?

I have a PS4 Pro Model CUH-7015B with a Nidec fan. If you have a CUH-7000 model save yourself the time and money and buy the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Paste. I meticulously cleaned every spec of dust out of my console and used 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean the GPU and heat sink contact points. I installed this Carbonaut thermal pad on the GPU along with the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8 thermal pads on the RAM Chips. I also made sure to tighten the screws in 1/4 turn intervals on the retaining bracket when reassembling. My console was louder than it was when the heat sink was packed full of dust. I tore it apart again to find that the thermal pad was only making 70% contact with the GPU. After removing the thermal pad and applying thermal paste my console is nearly silent.

It's working, I already use it on PS4 pro, usually I use thermal paste but after 2 week my PS4 sound become louder, after I use this one my PS4 become more healthy and fan silent, thanks so much bro !!

Thermal pads are not going to transfer heat as fast as thermal paste. 2 metals transfer the heat, thermal paste is just to fill and connect and fill the gaps between the 2 metals. Thermal pad just slows the process.

You’re the first person I have watched do a “repair” that I would trust to send my system too. I was able to clean smoke off my laser a few times and it would work in fort cleaning no longer does it. After watching your video I’m thinking the mirrors have smoke on them too but as you said, not really worth it.

That chip with the top blown off is an opto isolator also called an opto coupler. Inside is an LED and a photo transistor. In power supplies they are used mostly in the feedback circuit, between the low voltage side and the high voltage side.

Hi sir, I am writing from India. My PS5 doesn't start after a lightning strike and a power surge. There aren't any repair centers around that can actually diagnose and tell what the issue is. Thanks for this method. I did this with my ps4 PHAT and it really works. The fan, of course, has speeds and the noise has not completely disappeared, but in the end it is necessary to somehow cool the GPU/CPU. As a result, it really became more pleasant and quieter to play, as if the cooling scenarios had become correct and relevant i believe.

Everytime the PS4 is getting warmer there is a burn smell comming from it. Like this pad is getting too much hear and starting to smell.

Thank you for the video. I wish I would have found this the very first day you posted it. I used this thermal pad on cpu and also replaced micro chip thermal pads with minus 8 thermal grizzly. Replaced failed fan with new. My ps4 pro is whisper quite on every game in 4k even anthem which gave me major overheating problems in the past. My fan hits level 2 fan speed every so often but you can not hear it. You hear more from disc reader now. Finally a quite ps4 pro fir watching movies or playing demanding games with no noise.
