How to change fuel filter Duramax 6.6 in 2015 Chevrolet
It’s a Chevrolet not a GMC. I realize it’s a fuel filter, at some point I called it a fuel pump. Why? Who knows.

Fan clutch removal Gen 4 Ram Cummins 6.7 Diesel

My fan clutch failed at 37k miles, 1k out of warranty. The most important thing for this job is to have the pulley stopped/secured solidly so your hammer blows can impact the nut through the wrench and break the nut free. Use or rent the CORRECT tools! Sorry the fan shroud removal isn’t here but this is just a removal tips video, I didn’t plan to make a video expecting it to be a quick job. The...

Older Polaris XCR, XLT Indy: How to adjust belt deflection and sheaves. Fix squealing or “creeping”
Переглядів 30 тис.4 роки тому
This is for the 1990s Polaris snowmobile such as XCR, XLT an Indy. If the snowmobiles are much older than this they are going to need a shim adjustment but on these ones it’s a very simple adjustment there are just no videos available on UA-cam that I could find to show people how to do this I made this short video. Hopefully this will help somebody
Changed the belt on my XLT SKS (1996) after complete rebuild with new gaskets, piston rings and also carb rebuild. Had problem adjusting the idle and found out it was because of the belt was too tight. Track was spinning when jacked up and engine bogged down and died when it was put back on the ground. After having the sled for over 30 years I actually didn't know how to adjust belt tension. :) Thanks for the information. Saved my day.
We want you to dumb it down when you hit it with your hammer to loosen it did you hit it to the driver side or passenger side of the truck 😂
Air chisel
Did you try 36mm my is 36mm but I have a 2011 3500 6.7
When you find exactly your problem, it’s gold. Thanks for saving me two days.
Another note, this can be done without removing the fender liner but it’s a pain, but could same some time. Also the truck is a Chevrolet, not GMC.
Whats the pn for the back up wrench
Suse really. What fuing!!!! Direction
Standard thread, STANDARD THREADS, same as a standard bolt, nut anything
Hey thank don't know if this will fix my problem but is what I have been looking for lol
THANK YOU! My dads sled’s belt was so tight that it had trouble starting and getting going.
Seems as though it does nothing? Just spins freely
For under 50 dollars i bought a set of air hammer fan clatch wrenches never need backup to remove fan clutch that way
most of the videos I have seen, the nut comes off counterclockwise I'm doing mine now but I'm having a hard time taking it off I also can't find the right OEM clutch, dealer says its discontinued, bought one from oreilly but not sure if will work MURRAY 3291 Ram 3500 2012 Cab & Chassi
Do you remember if that came off counterclockwise or clockwise?
It is standard thread
Belt deflection is a spec, usually 1.25" of slack pushing down on the belt in the centre between the clutches.
As a note the drain is reverse thread so if you turn it left it screws into the water sensor, that lets it drain. Do not try to remove it, do not tighten it much either because you will damage the seal
Did you turn the nut left or right
Did you ever figure out if it was left or right?
Left, the fan rotates to the right to keep the nut tight.
@@trashman2350did YOU ever figure out if it was left or right? lol

@@NoblesTxdid you ever find out if it was right or left?
I have a 97 polarizes xlt,on the second clutch,#1-5 w/a new belt cant get it to change, what do I do next, thanks for your video you did a great job
I’m sorry I don’t understand your question. You can’t get what to change exactly?
Yea was hard to find for this style
I wish these videos were more detailed haven’t found one yet from start to finish. Thanks for the tips on the tools you rented.
You are welcome. I didn’t set out to make a video originally but after seeing several other methods that didn’t work for me I figured I would make a quick video showing an efficient easy method. I think many people might test fit the 48mm rental tool then not use it because of how loose it is for fear of stripping the nut without getting it off of there. I also didn’t want to reinstall the fan shroud and remove it again to make the video just to reinstall it yet again. Removing the fan shroud is pretty basic. Just undo four nuts and slide it out. One side of the fan shroud is slender so that it can come out around the fan. If someone can’t remove the fan shroud, they should not be attempting this job. The next step is remove the wiring, simple. Then remove the fan by the nut I show in the video.
two years later it helped me 🤣👌👌 thabks man i thought my belt sat a bit higher than usual haha
Yeah! It’s incredible what a tiny bit of tuning does! It’s like night and day. I dealt with a broken clutch spring once for months of carburetor tuning and cleaning. The spring wasn’t visible where it was broken and looked fine.
Thank You sir ! May u win a million dollars !
Your welcome, and let’s hope so!
Thanks for posting video. Could not find this info anywhere
Great tips. Going to change the belt on my recently acquired '99 SKS. Didn't know the clutch spreader tool from a newer model would work in mine and easy deflection setting, thanks!
Hell yes dude. I'd buy you a beer if I could. Lots of these older sleds still running great. Helped me out.
Motivation!!!!
Such a simple yet super helpful video, thank you for uploading this.
Thank you for the video! I tried to move that metal piece but I wasnt able to move it to the 5. I was going to change a new belt on it but the metal piece doesnt move even all three bolts are loose. Do you have an idea what Im doing wrong?
So my Polaris 500xc is set up the same on 5 but the belt won’t catch on primary clutch Do I just have to lower the adjustment or change belt you think ?
Thanks for the help
How wide are those tracks?
They are 18” plastic Supertracks with 6” snow cleat extensions. The extensions are basically conveyor belt with angle iron bolted on between them. The angle iron acting as the “cleat” is tapered down toward the tub to prevent contact. They work incredible on everything but water. In the water they have inch and a half cleats so they pull water over the top of the track and basically neutralize your forward forward force and you just sit in one spot churning up bubbles.
@@rotorav8 Thanks for the reply. Looks good.
It goes literally anywhere except won’t move in water without the Minn Kota
Great video. Do you have any idea if this is the same idea on a 1987 Indy 400. Thanks again.
If yours looks like the one in the video then yes. Otherwise you have to pull the clutch and change the size of the shims that go over the shaft, kind of a pain but doable
Did not know this, thanks
I didn’t until my friend in his 70’s told me. This is why I’ve always had friends older than me…they know things!
Thank you!!!!! I adjusted the secondary in the opposite direction and couldn’t figure out why my belt squealed and track spun.
I looked all over UA-cam and Internet I wish u had a better thumbnail/picture & title like a how to do belt deflection on old 1999-2003 clutches without or with tool u can also twist secondary while holding one side and slide the other side opposite way and the sheaves will spread apart & loosen belt without taking any bolts or tools out but I’m glad I know it’s not super hard because it says 10 lbs of torque and the torque wrench gone atm and the slead has been going great but it’s almost 3-1/2 and the old belt which was perfect except it had a burn mark tht was banging when it went around so I put in a belt from a 550 fan super-sport Polaris belt-#1178 instead of the Polaris belt-#1180 belt …practically it was the same length and width tht I could tell matching em up and it had no problems sense but I wanted to raise it up a little tiny bit cause I’ve seen videos on people saying the grooves should be above the top of the clutch sheaves not level with it so it needs tightened up a little to be perfect but I dnt want to make it worst or break anything cause I can’t fix anything else till summer and there’s a big storm coming anyways good video it could use a little enhancement But so does my English/grammar so let’s say fuck it and maybe I’ll make a new video of this and post it for relevant people tht are having this problems and can’t find the right thumbnail and title without wacthing every video like I had too
Ive been twisting and pushing the back sheave on the secondary then using my cold hands to yank and pry the belt off for years, my whole life really. Yes, that works, but if you are cold and just want it to be simple or maybe someone isnt as strong as us then it is so nice and easy to screw a little tool in and simply remove and replace the belt. I look at it like a an electric start with a pull start back up. CAN you pull start it? sure but its sure nice to push the button. On my sled I had a heavy secondary spring in there so it didn't open up so early because i like to pull sleds and it also gets the RPMs up before it tries to shift so early and brings it down. I noticed better fast performance and better towing trail performance. That heavy spring makes changing belts suck a lot when done the old way. If I set my belt as high as you say it causes the creep to start and makes a lot of drag when pull starting making that really suck too. It also wears flat spots in the belt when idling in one spot destroying your belts. Thats how mine was set when I got it.
@@rotorav8 thanks for the reply yeah I tried ur tool method worked really easy jst like the 550 fan because it had a tool and the 800 xc sp didn’t come with a kit when I bought it the belt had a burn mark like u said but the whole bottom end was gone cause the rear spring housing was broke I had to have a custom rod with a curve and shock in the middle I had one made at a tool shop my buddy did it but I jst wanted to switch the belt out cause it was making noise and I forgot and didn’t want the indent/burn mark to ruin my clucth but I wasn’t trying to be rude I jst was saying this is a really hard thing to find on UA-cam and I think we could make more videos about it to help people find em
@@Swampkiller1Tv yeah, that’s why I made one.
Thanks for sharing that man it helped alot with my new belt
Cool👍
Thank you for this. I just inherited a 90s Indy and am learning about it after I cooked a belt while loading it on the trailer. Now I know how to change and adjust
Yeah you want to either throttle it to engage and go or not. Slow throttle rolls will ruin a brand new belt. If you want to do slow take offs such as trail riding or trailer towing then you need to change the clutch springs and/or change your gearing but those are whole topics alone.
@@rotorav8 thanks for replying. I'm starting to learn about clutching. This sled was set up for drag racing so yes, it doesn't like slow starts
@@memmacat many people set them up to rev up and hit hard spinning the track. Trail riders hate those riders because they leave burn out bumps and hills. It also fries the belt if you want to slowly start. My tundra is clutched to take off smooth as butter. This is also really nice when you’re floating on deep snow and you don’t want to burn out, spinning the track and getting you stuck when you’re towing a trailer. I ride fresh deep snow a lot and use a trailer a lot.
Easy explanation and a useful tip. I didn't know about having to remove a bolt to use the spreader tool. I replaced a belt in the past but I forgot how I did it (and I have the tool).
The bolt is super easy and super fast to remove making it faster than pushing back the rear secondary sheave (pulley half). Fighting the spring can be a bear. I can do it sure but some people would like to make life easy and some people have arthritis so it’s a cool tip. Newer sleds have a special hole for it. Older sleds require you remove one bolt. Honestly even being pretty strong and only 42, when my hands are freezing cold it gets harder. It’s a socket or wrench you should carry anyway.
Thanks man took about 3 min. And it was fixed 🙌
Welcome, it’s nice to finally get it, isn’t it?
I just bought one and the lever beside the key is broken.. what does that lever do? Thanks
Sounds like you could be talking about the choke?? Attach a picture
How much?
Matt Pilcher, it’s posted for $1100 in Spokane WA
Thanks for the extra tip at the end of the video, good job man!
Thank you so much help a lot
Thank you so much
I have a 650 rxl 1995 and it bogs wondering if it would be the belt doing that but not too sure any suggestions
There are so many things that can cause a bog. This is more for if the sled is hard to pull over or if it creeps forward at idle.
Lift the back end then start to see if the track spins at idle.
That's awesome. That's what happens when I go to pull start our 98 xlt triple 600. I always noticed the squeal when pull starting the engine. Happens with both our 500 twin and 600 triple. Thanks so much. Great video.
Welcome, I hear them pretty often on trails lol. People are always saying they couldn’t figure it out, their mechanic was confused. I think mechanics are getting accustomed to newer sleds these days.
U the man!
Thank you for making this!
Thanks man! Great video
